dprowe78
I have been trying to change the timescale in Oblivion every which way I know how. First of all, for some reason I can't get into the console. I clean reinstalled the game, to no avail. Ditto with downloading and using several different mods which are supposed to alter the timescale. I'm trying to set it to realtime (1:1), and when I tab to the map every couple of seconds, it is clear that they are not working for me. I have tried placing the timescale-only mods all over my load order, again with no luck. Can anyone tell what is going on? Attached is a screencap of my Wrye Bash mod list. You'll see thingamajigs Timescale Mod at the very end, after the Bashed Patch, which I've heard one is not supposed to do, but this is simply the most recent placement in the load order that I have tried. I can't figure this out, but then again I am not as technically-saavy as I used to be with simpler code and simpler machines. Hoping some wunderkind on here can help out...The pace of my kitchen is too fast as it is, especially this time of year, that I don't need my relaxation (read: Oblivion) time to be any faster than real! :) Thanks again, Chef Domwww.seradolca.com
TheTerminator2004
Try opening Oblivion.ini and making sure benableconsole= is set to 1. If that doesn't work, try using a mod such as the ring of console to enable you to access the console, once you can do that, then you can try changing the timescale again. dprowe78
Checked the .ini file, and that setting is not in there. I placed it just below bEnableProfile=0. This still didn't work. Tried the Ring of Console, and that did the trick. Thanks a million! On a second note while I'm here, there is now an unbearable stutter to the game that freezes it momentarily if I try to move continuously for more than a second or two. This wasn't happening before, but the only change I made was to the .ini file, which I subsequently changed back. I tried starting a new game, but the stutter is still there. Any thoughts, anyone? TheTerminator2004
Try deleting the ini file completely, see if that helps.
malkion
Check for bAllowConsole=1 It's under "Interface" should already be there. In game go to console by pressing ` key... SetTimeScale to 1 changes to real time. There are certain points in the game where you'll need to default back toSetTimeScale to 30 or the quest will hang.... malkion
I looked at the picture. I notice 2 mods that might be in conflict. I dunno what they do, but the names sound suspicious, Francesca's Day Length Rescale 1-12.esp andThingasTime 1-1 Scale.esp So I see a conflict here. But it should be totally unrelated to why you can't get into the console commands... Looks like Francescas you can adjust with an item in game from real time 1.0 to 12.0 which is 12 minutes game time to 1 minute real time. Or just keep ThingasTime 1-1 Scale.esp checked and uncheck Francesca's to get real time in the game. I might be completely off track tho... not knowing what the mods really are and offer and do.
