Skyrim crashes upon loading saved games

Hey guys,

I recently uninstalled some mods from my Skyrim (SKSE) and from that point on it wouldn't load my saved games anymore. Everytime I openend one, it showed the world for half a second and then it went straight to Desktop. Also I tried opening older saves but still same result!

Sadly I don't know which mod it was I uninstalled but I suspect it was db - Enhanced Blood. I have absolutely no experience with this kind of stuff so I'm glad about any advice you can give me.

My load order can be seen here: http://imgur.com/YIqqRey

Also I'm using NMM and LOOT and I've tried sorting my Plugins but it doesn't help...

I have already uninstalled some mods that I thought were causing it and after that I ran the Reqtificator (SkyProc Patcher or whatever) for the Requiem Overhaul but that didn't do anything either.

Happy about any helpful response and ask me if you need any more info to detect the problem :-).

This isnt really a fix, but it might help

sometimes my save games do that. after you do a lot in the game save files just get bigger, naturally and take longer to load... add mods to that and I'm assuming that soemtimes the game cant handle it

one thing i do is always have a save file that loads to some small cell, mine is heimskrs house when he's not home. coc whiterunheimskrshouse... skyrim has an easier time loading a save if certain game data has loaded already. so if you load up your save in heimskrs house, chances are your actual save game will load perfectly. I do this whenever my saves frequently crash.

Thanks I'll do that as soon as I fixed my problem :-)

  • 5 weeks later...

Alright so I tried cleaning my master files (all 3 DLCs + my update.esm) but it's still not working although LOOT doesn't give me the warnings any more so it says they're all clean.

Also I tried using Wrye Smash to check which Masters were active in my save and installed/activated all mods that were included in my saves (also the same load order). But that didn't help either :sad:.

I guess that means my saves are unusable now which kinda sucks. But if anyone still has even the slightest idea of what might fix it please help :-) !!!

Oh and my latest saves all show the "content is missing" notification (or whatever it says exactly I mean the one by Bethesda) but there is one older one which doesn't show that note but even the older one crashes rigth after loading.

Edit: Some people online also suggested using the Papyrus log which might help finding the error but I don't have any clue how to read that. The last scripts it tried to load were 'dlc1vampireturnscript' and 'MakeAliasesEyesRed'. In my latest save I was just in Morthal doing the vampire quest but I don't know if it has to do with the CTD (I wouldn't know why though because the older save have the log without any vampire stuff)

Hello,

  • CTD loading a save troubleshoot.
  • Install crash fixes with the UseOSAllocators=1 enabled, see /// Settings / memory section.
  • Use the /// Save game section, if necessary try both mods.
  • Check the /// Load order section.
  • Verify gamecache.
  • Make sure you're using the good mods >> Dangerous mods list.
  • CTDs troubleshooting page on Reddit. depending on what's happening in game, choose the subsections that describes the best your problem.
  • Make sure you're using the latest USLEEP instead of the obsolete unofficial patches. If some of your old mods require them, you may use the USLEEP swap masters.
  • Papyrus log is a scripts log only and doesn't cover anything else, not a crash log. Interpreting Papyrus Log Errors, thanks to Arthmoor. Your papyrus seems to contain data from uninstalled mod (s), this spams also your savegame and may cause problems. Enabling papyrus logging

Here is a list of things that may help stabilizing your game if not already been done. :

/// Cleaning and correcting potential bugs :

  • Clean your master files to eliminate potential problems : Gopher's videos cleaning your masterfiles on the Nexus Tesedit page. You may use this updated guide to clean your masters. It contains the same automated cleaning procedure as Gopher explains in his video + repeating once for Dawnguard.esm + some selective manual cleaning.
  • The method above can be used to clean mods. LOOT should tell you which plugin you should clean. You may also do a check errors.

/// Load order / mods conflicts :

/// Settings / memory :

  • Ensure you're not using redundant memory patches, such as SSME, skse.ini; crash fixes, or safety load. Preferably, use crash fixes with the UseOSAllocators=1 enabled or skse memory patch.
  • Memory blocks log will help to refine memory settings.
  • Backup your ini files and delete the files. Skyrim.ini / SkyrimCustom.ini / SkyrimPrefs.ini found in C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim then use your vanilla launcher to autodetect and use best settings for your computer.
  • STEP INI tweaking wiki.
  • You may install ENBOOST >> ENB graphics / ENB haxx.

/// Save game :

/// Meshes healer :

  • Read here, this is potentially a cause of CTD that you can resolve by following the mod procedure on this page.

/// Useful informations :

Hope this helps.
