Hey Guys,

i'm not new to Elderscrolls Mods, so i usual know what i'm doing. But right now i'm stuck.

i installed a few like 15, and then started to sort out what i don't like. but now it's like i delete the whole texture folder, and my game looks just the same, and i really dont know what i am supposed to do. So if anybody knows a hint plz don't hold back. :)

Thanks dudes

Sounds like Windows UAC to me... Is your \Steam\ folder located under \Pragram Files\ and are you on Windows Vista/7? If so you may be the first case of UAC issues I've seen post.

To get around UAC you need to install Skyrim (and therefore Steam) to a location outside of UAC's affect. C:\Games is a commonly used directory.

Later on issues may pop up that don't allow utility programs like NMM, or Wrye Smash(?), etc., to properly locate your \Skyrim\ folder due to left behind registry entries so I recommend uninstalling Skyrim with Revo Uninstaller, moving Steam, and then reinstalling Skyrim. Be sure to chack and then delete any registry entries, pertaining to Skyrim, Revo finds during the scan.

Windows UAC

It's not the issue here however.

Was there a noticeable difference in the textures when you first applied them? If not, do you have the "Load Loose Files" box checked off in the "Data Files" section of the launcher? A lot of people have been having issues with the Load Loose Files box not staying checked by the way (including myself) but it's been mentioned that opening the Data Files section and then checking the Load Loose Files before every time you play may resolve this.

Sometimes it loads the textures without Load Loose Files checked and sometimes it doesn't. It's more than possible the game requires archive invalidation for texture replacers to work properly. I activated NMM's archive invalidation as soon as I got it, but my textures were loading fine without it. It's still worth a shot.

Note: I believe that ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated! (available from either TESNexus or FalloutNexus) uses the same trick that NMM does so either should rule out archive invalidation as the issue.

I don't use archiveinvalidation and have never ticked Load Loose Files

Everything I have added to my game has worked.

All have been loaded as per the specific mod instructions.

As long as you have put things into the correct folders you should be good to go. In saying that there are certainly people that can't get things to work and for the life of me I don't know why.

BTW, I would add one mod at a time. Try for something that is easily noticeable like the better night skies mod and see if things are working.
