icestormganon
I'd actually like to try to create this mod myself, but I was hoping that somebody could point me in the right direction before I try to research everything myself. I really like that when we craft armours and weapons that are slightly different styles of the same type that we can pick to create. I also like quite a few of the texture replacers on the site now.. however, I'd like to create a mod that adds them to the leveled loot lists and craft lists. For example, being able to craft blue coloured glass swords or find some vampire out in the wild with one, while still having the normal green ones around. I've been using mods in my games for quite some time, but I've never created one. I assume that the way the replacers work is that all files placed in mod folder will override the default objects if they are named the same. If I were to rename the replacer to something else, they would not work, correct? Since nothing tells the game to load the object in. I assume I'm going to need the Creation Kit to adjust and add things to the leveled lists. I think it really helps with immersion to have everyone running around the game with different looks! Bearget
THIS!! I left almost this exact comment recently on one of the alternate dagger textures, and I've had at least a couple of people agree with me. It would be incredible if you could download a ton of different weapon and armor mods, and choose which one to use when you forged a new item. And I also love the idea of allowing enemies to spawn with them. That said, I wouldn't want to risk some lowly bandit having the same epic war axe as me. Have to make sure you can add specific textures to the forge pool and not the loot one, or vice versa.
icestormganon
That would be ideal, but I have a feeling that would be much harder to do. It should be easy to have a unique armour only possible from the forge... something like the Dragonbone stuff. I just realised that vendors would work off the same leveled list as well, but at least we wouldn't have to worry about NPCs buying weapons off of them.
