raithen
Hello guysFor first, sorry about my bad and sad english. I'm from Germany and looked for a good website for Skyrim mods. And becouse the fact, that i played Oblivion, too, i remembered, that this side was very good ;) I have an idea for a good mod, but i don't know, how to make it. The idea is, to add a forge, oven and all other stuff to the garden / basement / court of the loneliness (capital city) of skyrim. Also you should remove the spider webs when you buy all stuff for the house. Additional chests near the alchemy labor and the enchanting table would be nice, too, becouse i can't store what i want to store there -.- Need chests for alchemy, soul stones, weapons, armory, blacksmith materials, and some other stuff... it's very annoying to me. I thaught "buy that 25k gold house, and you will have what you need"... but i think, the little house in "Weißlauf" (can some1 translate that?.. the first big city, which looks like 'Edoras', capital city of Rohan in LotR). Many greetings and i hope i posted it correctly :) Raithen
bishoplight
The city you're talking about is Whiterun, friend! :D And, I agree. I would like more reason to go home!
raithen
Thanks :) i see, i forgot to end up my sentence lol. What i wanted to say is:For me is the House in Whiterun the best. You have a chest near to the alchemy labor, you have 2 bags on the right side after you enter the house, and you have another directly on the left, if you enter the house. you go home, you store your stuff, you sleep to get the "get bonus EXP buff", take your soulstones / blacksmith mats / alchemy matsm and you lvl. In the more expensive house in lonliness, there isn't the same ability. I miss that ... i wanna have my oblivion houses back ^^...
pwnedbyscope
your english is actually pretty good raithen, and you were right about coming here to look for mods, now from what i can tell you want to add a bunch of chests and a forge to the house in Solitude, the largest city. this is all very possible, however the tool needed to "properly" mod Skyrim, the skyrim construction set hasn't been released yet, it should be released very soon and when it is what you are asking about will be very easy. also Weißlauf is Whiterun
Rebelicious
I completely agree with you, comrade. In Whiterun, you can only get a Cooking pot and a Alchemy table. This obviously isn't nearly enough. A fully upgraded home - and I do think that this should be exceedingly expensive, depending on the house - should at least have all the Smithing, Enchanting and Alchemy amenities, even if it means placing them in a shed outside the house or digging out a cellar for the forge. The more expensive homes have more things like this, depending on what house you get in the future, although getting certain houses can be hard and a lesson in futility (such as the one in Windhelm, if things bug out on you). But I understand the desire to live in a specific spot. I personally choose my homes entirely based on roleplaying. Whiterun is a great, cozy little house. And if you're a ranger or a horseman of Rohan, I can fully understand the desire to live there. :D Edit: Oh, and you keep saying Loneliness. I think you mean Solitude. The city is called Solitude in English. :) Edited November 20, 2011 by Rebelicious
Bearget
Definitely agree with you! Did not buy anything until I had enough gold for the Whiterun house, just so I'd have a place to store all my loot. And then I discover there's only one chest next to my bed (aside: has anyone verified whether the chests in Lydia's room are safe to put things in? I assume so, because it's my house, but I still worry because it's her bedroom so maybe she is able to remove things from it? What can I say, I'm paranoid). I would like A LOT more control over decorations and upgrades - even if adding a forge might not be feasible in Breezehome, the bigger houses could probably fit one either in the basement or just outside. Enchanting tables take next-to-no space; I should be able to get one in every building I own. And don't get me started on storage/display items: if I want to have separate chests for weapons, armor, clothing, potions, scrolls, and junk, LET ME HAVE THEM. And if I further want a bunch of bookshelves and mannequins for the collections of books and various armor styles that I obsessively accumulate, LET ME HAVE THEM. Actually, this seems like the kind of thing that might be doable via console, without resorting to a mod. Does anyone know of a "place mannequin here" command? Koreos
I agree, I also want more luxurious beds! I am the Thane not a beggar -_-
ryanwh
I think there should be a storage box in each purchased house that basically carries everything you put into any other storage box. It doesn't have to make "lore sense" it just makes things easier to sort. When I'm trying to find Song of Alchemy and I think I picked it up at some point, I shouldn't have to travel to 3 or 4 cities to check every storage box to make sure. I can just go to the closest box and see everything I've stored in any storage. Edited November 20, 2011 by ryanwh
jesterhead85
I've bought houses in Markath and Whiterun. and i'm surprised at how little storage they give you.Very few chests. The display cases only hold Daggers. I also hated how my Mannequin in Markath could only display armor and not weapons. i like the book cases, but the books don't store all that cleanly. They just kinda fall over even if you store 18 books. I think the mod community will be perfectly the player houses for sure.
BeakieHelmet
The houses need more storage areas period. Anyone who's played through old world blues knows how absolutely handy the various containers were in that. A big box for ammo tools right above the ammo bench, a big box for science tools right above the science bench, and a fridge right next to the hot plate. Why on earth is there no chest or something in the basement of Riften's house save for your housecarle's wardrobe? The alchemy AND enchantment benches are in there! Also, I think there was a request in another thread for an argonian maid for the Solitude house. That's certainly a thing that should happen.
