How can I automatically add or remove items from an NPC in-game?

Nitpicking?

Maybe. I don't think its asking too much though for npcs to leave their home cells at a reasonable time, whether or not the PC is immeidately there. I'm trying to make a mod that makes a city that feels believeable. People coming and going, doing this, going there, lots of varied action, etc.

I'm just getting frustrated. Every time I fix a problem or find a work around I end up stumbling into an even bigger and or more time consuming problem. Work piles on top of work, stacking on the unfinished work that was suspended because of the problem.

Which keeps making me feel like this damn version is never going to come out. My last version was 058 which finished off the last of the regular above ground buildings inside the city walls. This version was supposed to just be the static castle. It has become:

The static castle (10+ new cells)

AI and Dialogue for the miners and guards and staff at the fort mine complex, which itself has been updated\altered. The staff also congregates at a little mass inside the facility.

AI for the 8 wall guards and 16 castle guards

AI for the priest and priestess (All AI sequences have to now be rechecked, BTW)

Functional merchants and a functional inn. (Which have to be resettled later to maintain a more coherent, synchronized schedule)

Various small updates both to interior cells and the external city.

New enemies along the new road.

The "working" packages for the scribes, though not their daily living packages. I was working on the first guys daily packages when I ran into the problem.

Yet to come:

Church masses for everyone in the city. Around a hundred people to coordinate on different days and at different times

AI and Dialogue for everyone in the city. Which is to be broken down into groups, finish the scribes (the last big, whole group) then do the people in the embassies and the last important people in the castle, then the merchants, then the order of dibella, then the academy, then the last scattered mundane npcs. Doing AI first then dialogue.

Each NPC takes a while to do and they all have to be coordinated to fit in to larger gatherings. Some have to be coordinated to take the place of others at different times. Again I'm just frustrated. I still have a lot of work to do. Which sucks because I thought this would have been done by now.

Regardless, I thank you again for your help.
