[Help] to make Barrett m95 textures & Uv map my model

Well,i just wanna texture the whole weapon model of a Barrett m95,i have done some progress with enough help from FrankFamily, for some separate parts, like:

butt stock rubber, bolt, trigger, lock pins, safety, magazine release mechanism,monopod,rail-scope,bipod and barrell.

Full resolution picture here

I used another model for the main body instead of the original one so the textures need to UV mapped in order to fits or generated new ones if it's possible.

We have already done it but the final result wasn't such good and spectacular as i wanted to be.

In conclusion, the whole weapon looks like far deferent from real and ugly enough.

If someone is willing to uv map it for me and give it a try,i would hugely appreciate it.Using Blender it's just like rocket science for me so no luck to accomplish it.

Also,my Gimp-Photoshop skills are limited so i've got no luck to generate new textures.

So i want someone to take it from here and done with it with all of my thanks and credits, cause it's a very lovely weapon and i want it-that so bad.In order to make it a complete mod.

Thanks in advance.

Let me know if you are still looking for someone to work on this.

I'm not terribly experience with textures, but I've got a good amount of photoshop/paint.net experience. I might as well give it a whirl!

Well this project is still going on...slow but sure the job is done step by step. With help from preeze the model is in texture process in order to look like a real Barrett.

My goals is to make it as realistic than ever a mod could be.

I prepared some world models like a Barrett firearms gun case, some separate mags,50cals,barrett optics case and ghillied up some of them, just for the ingame decoration...

but i also made some playable ghillied versions(with diferrent burlap net camos) that you will be able to use ingame.

Unfortunately, nothing is tested in geck or ingame yet...i think that only the 30% of its ready, like i want it to be.

A huge step will be done when the texture process will finished but so much things and work still will have to be done.

Another thing that could be a serious problem is the reload animation. As a bullpup bolt action sniper rifle none of the vanilla animation would fit, only the Bullpup Reload Animations would make the magazine to work when you reload but there is no way for a shoot-load-shoot loadx5 and then reload animation,

I'v asked for some help to make a new animation for it...still no luck but its early enough for that.

Last when the textures will be ready there are going to be done some camo textured versions of the m95 like a desert, woodland and a snow white one.

As it seems i'm going a little off-topic...posting more like a mod showoff progress rather than mod troubleshooting but oh well...

The texture process is still going on and with some grunge details make it looks even more realistic.

The scope is ready for the thermal sight version i'm going to make (you will get thermal sight vision everytime you just zoom in).

Huge progress with the custom reload animations...from the help of Heffy,

really difficult process but i'm sure that something good will come over.

I made a suppressed version of the model...not based on real thow.

I don't know if the way i made it is correct, maybe the barrel would have to be longer and the suppressor smaller, but random maybe i made it correctly...!

Unfortunately i couldn't ghillied this version up but there will be some whole weapon camos suppressed versions...

The person who made this originally, Preeze, already UV-ed it. What's wrong with the original one? By the way, what you did to the texture on the second picture made it look worse: try adding scratches instead.

Also, is that my Carl Zeiss Conquest there?

@dazzer

I used another model for the main body, its not Jon's m95,some of the parts yes but not all of them so i need to creat new textures for it or unwrap the excisting ones on the new model...

As for the 2nd pic,yes that was a test to make the Barrett trademark clearer and to distinguished better.

Yeah that's yours zeiss texture on the scope, put it on in order to take ideas for making mine ones, dont worry i'm not going to use them,i already made new ones

OK, fair enough, though I would prefer it if you didn't display it next time. Also, here's something I made after an hour or so: it's the main body texture. Click for full 2048x2048

Props and kudos to Preeze for his work, it is excellent.

The main problem with your texture right now is that it's too consistent, looking like plastic. If you can see on the texture I showed you, there are scratches here and there, as well as discoloration. I achieved this quite easily with a metal texture overlay, and using a brush to scratch the edges. Because the rifle is metal, setting a high contrast afterwards would be great.

Yeap, seems that what's you made fits exactly to preeze's original model.

Totally agree with you but dazzerfong thats why you are a modeler/texturer wiz,i'm not that kind of good or even close to that...

so i can't yet "brush" metal overlay and add grunge details over mine main body texture.

Could you,if i pass to you 1.dds for the main body to make something like the above, over it,when you have free time?I know that you have enough requests from many others but i believe it will worth it,as well.

No, I don't really want to texture it for you: it's part of the thrill of texturing. You have to keep trying, after all, I've only been texturing properly for a year or so.

Tell you what: go on Google Images, and search Metal Textures. Download some big pictures, but not the ones with high counts of deep cuts, and using Photoshop/GIMP, overlay those textures onto your texture.

Ok tried to do what you tell me to,i found out some carbon fiber and metal patterns and I integrate them onto my textures but they still looks like too consistent and boring...i tried to add some scratches but i didn't make it out but ether this way they look awful...this is how it looks now:
