CloudVvulf
I liked Paarthurnax, I wish he had more character development though. After capturing Ohdaviing, and being told I had to ride a dragon to get to wherever it was I had to go next, what I didn't understand is why I was supposed to trust this dragon I just met, when I already had a dragon ally that I'd known for more than 30 seconds. You and me, both! The first time I went through it, I said "No way" cause I didn't trust him and I thought to myself, I'll just go over to Paarthurnax, he'll fly me over. I don't need that other dragon's help to get there. But to my dismay, Paarthurnax wouldn't even talk to me about it. >:( I got a little miffed at him. I had to go back to Ohdaviing and surrender. Which I really did not want to do.
Pixelfrog1
I couldn't kill him. He gave me a loaded gun with Dragonrend a gun so powerful that it was used to take out an immortal dragon of immense power. If Parthunaxx had any aspirations for power, they were destroyed once I had that gun. He knows full well that I can kill him or any other dragon anytime I wanted to, yet he makes no move to kill me or control me. He also knows that I can pass the knowledge of Dragonrend onto other Dovakiin in the future, thus making sure dragon kind never returns to their power hungry ways. I love that old dragon, he reminds me of my grandad, so he can stay living until such time he gives me a reason to kill him. I know that day will never come. daventry
I also cant kill him, it might have been a Bug or a missing option for going to the Blades and Lie to them in saying he is dead, now im not allowed in the Blade Sanctuary unless Par is dead and me getting kicked out of High Hrothgar. I also wanted to ride Par instead of that captured Dragon, now i cant even get that Dragon to take me back to the place where i went to find Alduin. mayaslash
I haven't gotten there yet AT ALL, but I have no intention of killing him. Just one question though - is there a way to finish the Blades' quest without killing him, or does the quest remain open?
daventry
Not sure if its a Bug but the Blades Quest will not open unless you Kill Par Par is back, theres no new conversation with him and theres a Dragon that keeps flying in circles, i suppose you speak to the Greybeards till you find all the Word Walls and then you Stupidly Force Kill Par as the Game/Blades demand thus you get kicked out of High Hrothgar. Pineapplerum
No, you can still converse with him. I have. And I still do. He still allows me to meditate on those three words but I can't remember what they are. Go back and try to talk to him. It may take him awhile to talk to you. He's sitting on the wall. I think he eventually flies over to you and then he talks to you. I think. But you can definitely talk to him after the mission and no, you don't have to kill him. trepmaws
When I first met Paarth), I freaked out and went into dragon killing mode, cause i had turned off that quest marker ages ago, then came back to the main quest. I threw Fire storm at him and stuff, then he started talking and I was like, :wallbash: , cause I realized it was Paarth. Since then, he's become my favorite character. At first I loved Esbern, and could listen to him for hours. But after he told me that I needed to kill Paarth, I wanted to strangle those damned Blades! Esbern doesn't even have a good reason to kill him, other than that whole "justice" hogwash! He even invalidates his own reason by saying Paarth may have repented of all his past deeds! Give the old dragon a freaking chance! And Delphine... she's just a *censored* about it. Man, this game really made me put my thinking and morality caps on, with all this "Kill Paarthunax" Quest and the "Civil War". Also, I never new that you could do a peace treaty! Totally would have gone that route instead of siding with the Imperials! So no, I didn't kill Paarthunax, I don't need that stupid Dragon's slayer blessing anyhow! All's I need is my Dragonbane katana!
Bunxii
Im perplexed, how did you finish killing alduin if you kill Paarthurnax??
HaikenEdge
I also cant kill him, it might have been a Bug or a missing option for going to the Blades and Lie to them in saying he is dead, now im not allowed in the Blade Sanctuary unless Par is dead and me getting kicked out of High Hrothgar. The option is missing, but I don't think it's a bug, unless you mean you tried and couldn't due to some programming error. Bethsoft's idea of choice is the two extremes, rarely ever something in-between.
