socalaries
I've noticed that sometimes after I do a power attack I also swing both blades around for additional dual attacks afterwards but I'm not sure what it is that I'm doing, because I try to replicate it and it won't happen. All I can replicate are the main 3-swipe dual attacks and the 1-swipe regular dual attack. The one I'm trying to replicate chains in directly after the dual power attack and does at least 3 additional swipes. I'm aware that I input additional attack commands beforehand but, like I said, I have trouble replicating it. Anybody know how it works exactly? AltreU
That may be something associated with one of the perks. I tried just after I read this to get an extra couple of swings in with various input methods and haven't been able to link anything to the power attacks. I play in first person mostly, but I tried this in 3rd to see exactly what my character was doing and didn't notice anything different. What all perks do you have for 1-handed?I've got: Armsman, Fighting Stance, Critical Charge, Savage Strike, and Bladesman so far (with most of my other perks in Smithing, Enchanting, Archery, Light Armor, and Sneak). Also, what platform are you playing on? socalaries
I doubt it has anything to do with the perks. I have all of the dual wield perks maxed and everything but the paralyzing strike and weapon-specific perks in one-handed. Again, I believe this to be irrelevant, as I've been able to do it at a much lower level than you must be now.I know I'm not inputting the commands after the power attack because often the enemy is already dead after the initial power attack, and I try to move to the next combatant but I get stuck carrying out an additional few swings. These are individual swings (not like the quick dual strike, which is both together), but not the same as alternating left and right attack. They are too fluid, too quick. I cannot find another way to do them without it ending up chained after my power strike. Edited November 21, 2011 by socalaries
AltreU
I think I know what you're talking about. I think it may either be another set of power attacks (I've remember strange things like that happening when I used dual wielding more) or it could be input lag mixing up some of the animations. I've noticed sometimes an extra set of alternating swings going the opposite direction of previous power attacks. What view do you play in? Dual wield would be monotonous if all you got were those two basic moves. I play almost exclusively in 1st person because I can judge reach better that way. AltreU
Seeing as we both play in first person and I haven't noticed it when toying with third, it may just be a first person thing. I guess when the CK comes out, we'll know for sure.
socalaries
I believe the viewpoint to be irrelevant, as the attacks aren't just animations but do damage. That would be extremely broken
AltreU
I mean that they could have been something that they meant to take out for one perspective and just forgot to. When you switch to first or third, it switches models and could have an attack set specifically for that view attached to the model. Since I'm on PS3, there's not much else I can do for you. You can try using tfc (if that's still a console command) while in combat and catch a screenie of it happening to investigate the matter.
socalaries
Apparently, if you mash L and R mouse keys (like as if you were trying to do a quick dual attack) while you're executing a dual power attack, you might get another dual power attack for no stamina cost. Because that's what's happening to me. It basically chains into a free power attack. I'd post a video but fraps makes my rig lag. I encourage other people to try it out for themselves. Qwal
Ok i have the answer(i think it's this anyway) Press the left and right mouse button at the same time, or well hold them down at the same time. THen he does a few swings and swirls around for a few more. Doing shitloads of damage. Think he does about 4-5 hits or something.
