Darker Nights?

Darker nights. its simple. I just don't like how I can see so clearly at night.. it annoys me because, I'm a rogue. that makes me stick out, and if darker nights came with a mod that makes lighting effect stealth, THAT would be the ultimate immersive tool.

I totally second this, the nights are ridiculous... you can see everything just as well as during the day.

I remember playing morrowind where the nights were really dark!! It makes everything so much more exciting and torches and night vision will finally have use!

I feel that, in general, this game has too much ambient, and to a lesser extent, directional lighting. If these were reduced, and the radius and number (hard part) of point lights increased, the game would look much better. Often I will be inside a building, like downstairs at the Companions' HQ and everything looks bland and gross. Then I whip out a torch and everything has colors and shading and is beautiful. Lots of these rooms have candles and other lighting already, they just don't have enough juice behind them.

And yes, one of my characters is a cat and nightvision is pretty much just a blurry version of normal vision.

I have turned my brightness setting in game as low as it will go. Night time is almost dark enough and the daylight time is still bright as ever. So try cranking down your settings wherever you can for now. Now if that would change the rules of night stealth we would be in business.

I had the same issue, I play an Assassin/Sneak Thief and well... W/o being able to see shadows it was starting to get tricky considering I play on the hardest setting.

But I kinda figured out a way, lol.

Use this mod:

Skyrim Enhanced Shaders

Just use the 1st one there.

And adjust your brightness according tho what you like(Mine is like an Inch away from lowest)

I think thats all I used, lol.. I'ma have to double check.

Doiwnload Enhanced Shader mod, once you did open enbseries.ini and you will see that section:

[colorCORRECTION]

DarkeningAmountDay=0 (no need to explain )

ScreenLevelDay=65 ( by trying several settings i assume the higher the value is the more flashy lights and colours are, dont know exactly why)

ScreenLevelNight=25

DarkeningAmountNight=15

GammaCurveDay=0 ( like contrast in a way higher seems darker but light stay bright)

GammaCurveNight=2

ColorSaturationDay=0 (, i put a higher saturation for nights so it prevent that crazy desaturation wich is unrealistic so it save colours when you re in enlighted places such as close to a flame where there is absolutly no reason for desaturation)

ColorSaturationNight=4

UsePaletteTexture=0

As you can see darker night so lighting do really matter and colours are still here
