Lachdonin
Yes, the claws tell you exactly which combination opens the lock. of course, you actually need the right claw. If you sold or threw them away... Well... clearly you haven't been playing TES games for long...
angrytigerp
Select your claw and look at it. The correct order of emblems is engraved on it I didn't even realize this on the first puzzle, I just brute-forced it (there's only 3^3 possibilities of combination, if you're patient you can get it eventually). But one night I was just looking at stuff in my inventory at random and, whaddya know..
Pineapplerum
I have all the claws but the first one I got for whatever the quest was, after I was finished the quest, I was told to give it back to the Riverwood merchants place because it had been stolen from there.I use the different claws for the different doors. But it's a hassle trying to guess the combination. I thought when he said "That's what the gold claw is for" he meant that my using the golden claw instead of the ruby, diamond, glass, etc.. claw that I wouldn't have to try to figure out the door combination anymore. And no, my claw doesn't tell me what the combination is. How does it tell you that? I keep having to put the claw in and then move the combination around until I figure it out and I am using the right claw for the right dungeon. I must be doing something wrong.I've been playing ES since Morrowind. Just because I get confused once in awhile doesn't mean I'm a novice player. It just means, I don't know everything. Pineapplerum
Oh, it's engraved on it? I never noticed. Lol. I'll have to look with the next claw. I did look but didn't see anything. I'll just look closer next time. Thanks! :D
Pzldr
Having issue moving the rings on the door to setup the symbols that are on the golden claw. I point at each ring and it says "E" to rotate outer, mid and inner ring, but I press E and nothing happens except where I put the golden claw into. it goes in turns a little to right and then left. nothing else happens. Did I miss something? Is there another claw I'm to find that opens that door but code is on the golden one? I'm at the first door where a claw is needed after i entered a room, where I went up a level and crossed a small foot bridge and through an unlocked iron door.
