Shizzpickle
I can play Skyrim on low settings and it runs fine but any higher makes it lag (obviously), i dont know if its the game or just my computer. My specs intel core i5-2410M, 2.3 GHz6 GB ram64 bitGeforce GT 540 M cuda 1GB I dont know too much about this stuff but would i need to have anything better to run at a higher setting? Any help is appreciated =D
ratch
shouldn't be you specs, have you tried the Performance Mod?its a simple DLL replacement. make sure you didn't install to a UAC protected folder [Program Files (x86)] Skyrim Better Performance ~Ratch

Aykani
Looks like your running it on a laptop if I'm not mistakenThe 540m isn't meant for high-end gaming (it's middle end tech), and benchmarks show it playing on low at slightly over 30fps, with every increase in graphics dropping the FPSIf you haven't already, disable your anti aliasing. Otherwise, you're probably going to be playing with those settings from this machine

chrismgtis
These "increased performance" mods didn't do anything for me. Likely made it worse. They remind me of those ridiculous apps for DOS back in the day that claimed to increase RAM. I imagine it works for some, but not most. You could just as easily increase performance by changing your settings. Edited November 21, 2011 by chrismgtis
Shizzpickle
i tried like 5 different things to increase performance and none of it worked for me. so i shall just leave it the way it is
BlakeK80
The "Better performance dll file did nothing for me either. in fact it made things worse. The one mod that has made things run slightly smoother is this reduced textures pack by Alex30001: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=47 As i say things run that bit smoother with this with no obvious drop in visual quality.
