darkblayd
I feel as though shouts are really overpowering. I've basically decided to ignore the fact that unrelenting force even exists because of how trivial it makes most fights with it's low cooldown/high level of effectiveness. I think it would have been really cool if the voice had it's own skill and perk tree, but since I've heard that skills are hard coded yet again I don't think it's possible... What I would like to see is some heavy rebalancing of the effectiveness/drawbacks of the shout abilities. I would also like to see a limitation imposed on the learning of shouts in general, it should be another character customization choice instead of a vast toolkit that nearly replaces the need for skill in any school of magic. Perhaps limit the acquisition of dragon souls to named dragons only? I'm anxious to see what can actually be done about these once the CS comes out, I expect simple tweaking of values such as cooldowns and damage ratings will be all that can be done in the short term, but even so the balance of this feature could be improved a lot with those options alone. Who else feels like the shouts trivialize any challenge in the game if abused? Edited November 21, 2011 by darkblayd
ninga_express
Either use them less often or bump up the game difficulty
darkblayd
You could glean the fact that I'm already taking it easy on the shouts on my own by reading my post. -Difficulty does not change the fact that shouts give you free access to the effects already covered in the schools of magic and only trade mana cost for a cooldown.-It's exceedingly easy to just stagger every enemy you happen across with unrelenting force and kill them before they recover. Gee thanks for the constructive reply.
