nisafei
So I like to fight with my fists, it was viable in other Elder Scrolls games, why isn't there a whole combat tree devoted to it here? Yeah you can get the heavy armor perk...but why do I have to go into the heavy armor tree just to get one perk? Also there are enchantments that increase unarmed damage, Khajiit get a bonus to unarmed damage, and even a couple kill animations, so why even bother allowing you to do more with it if all you end up doing is getting into bar fights or beating someone into submission for some other task. I would love to see a more viable fighting style for unarmed, this will likely have to wait till the construction set comes out, but the option is there to fight without weapons, so why not make it worth while? IE skill ups, perks and fun bonuses. Speaking of kill cams, archery doesn't get any..yeah its ranged attacks but if you make a headshot on an unarmed guy why cant I see the arrow blast through his eyesocket? Or throat? Doesn't have to be all that flashy, just want some consistency.. Also the option to disable those kill animations would be a godsend to many players who just hate them. Blacksmith is far too easy to skill up, and I would like to see more synergy with local blacksmiths and the mines in the area. Have vendors in a town only ever have a few ingots/ore in their inventory. After all they are making weapons for the Stormcloaks, Imperials, local guard, citizens. So it would be logical that their supplies would be limited, and with all those mines out there that are overrun with bandits I don't see deliveries coming. Mining is slow and tedious, but its mining what can you say..At least the ore veins come back after 10 days or something along those lines. After clearing the local mine, shipments would come in and the vendors would have more in stock... Or at least that is the theory. One of my favorite mods, RTS (real time settler) which I don't expect to see here ever due to the modder leaving for greener pastures in the modding arena. I would love to see it implemented in skyrim, though it would be a huge task and would again require the construction set. But the idea of building your own keep, tower, castle, village or city is just awesome, and then add to that city sieges, bandit attacks and well, giants come to ruin your good time. It leaves a lot to do and get done, but again this would be a huge project and so I leave it to the mod community to decide what they will do with my thoughts. Smaller tweaks would be nice to see with being a vampire, though I am glad I don't instantly die after a fast travel like in oblivion if the time it takes to travel goes through daylight hours..But as a few threads here have more details I will leave the details to those posts. Dual wield casting has the mouse buttons in reverse for some reason compared to weapons and then dual casting a bound 1h sword makes it go to your left hand..making it impossible to use a shield (IIRC) and have a dual cast bound sword at the same time. Maybe some form of macroing for casters, something to make the buffing process a little less annoying with pressing 1,1 double mouse key press (for buffed protection spells ie Stoneflesh), then 2,2 double mouse key press (for buffed Conjured Blade leaving the weapon in your OFF hand), then changing the "mainhand" to a different spell manually because the hotkey 3 (fire) will just replace your conjured blade...That sort of annoyingly time consuming effort for a caster...Oh and if you go conjuration, why do you need to build with 1h, 2h, archery etc for the actual weapons...There should be a perk to buff those beyond just Doing more damage bit, since eventually I can see that real weapons damage will outdo the conjured ones unless you drop even more points into a combat tree..or maybe some sort of compromise of the two. >< Sprinting jumps would make things better, I don't really see how running fast limits me from leaping across chasms or over pits..And I don't think Id ever try to do those from a standstill. Companion Dwemer machines...or the ability to make them since the over abundance of random parts all over the Dwarven ruins..Maybe have books entailing how to make each type of machine, out of iron, steel...etc on up to dragon. Giving smiths more utility or even making it its own sort of perk tree or quest line. Dyes, or if we cant go that route due to there being a lot of effort behind it I would imagine, more colors of the armors available with colored ingredient requirements. Make use of all those blasted flowers you run across. I am not a modder by any means, hence my suggestions here and Im sure there are a few things that I am forgetting, but till the much anticipated construction set comes out these are the thoughts I have for now. I wanted to get my thoughts down before I forgot them, as well as prevent several smaller posts from flooding into the already busy forums and I do apologize for the length of the post. Thanks to any that had the patience to read this,~~Nisafei
