Guest Messenjah
So, I will ask that you guys don't spoil anything too much for me. However, is there any way to become a standard werewolf, ala Bloodmoon? I remember going to Solthsiem in Morrowind and hearing rumors of werewolves all over the place and people feared them like the dragons are feared in Skyrim. I know that you can join the Companions and go through a "ritual" or if you hunt down another werewolf in the game, you can get a the Hircine ring. But what about normal, regular werewolves where, if you get bitten, you become one at a certain time of night, much like vampires? Also, I remember the Bloodmoon wolves becoming weak when they didn't feed rather than this weird transform back to human form when you run out of something to eat and change-at-will concept. WorldShaperDragon
To answer your title question, no - not yet*. *This I think is what was being referred to as the supposed 'Werewolf DLC' that was being talked about prior to release To answer your wondering about the changing at will/changing back, based on what I've seen so far in my playthrough, it looks like werewolves can be divided into two discrete groups (this is found through quests, dialogue and in-game texts); there are those who have mastered control over their forms and can change at will, and those who have no control over their forms and change involuntarily (I can't remember off-hand what the canonical terms were though; I know the latter category does have one though). The former tend to be more in control of themselves, while the later tend to have no control. The following is speculation: Likely changing back is a result of not having the strength to maintain the wolf form without the bloodlust, and is likely a cost of being in control. Also, I would imagine the way the player becomes a werewolf in the Circle is the reason for why they have more control; rather than being a disease contracted, it was a controlled ritual.
