randomguy79
I apologize for this question in advance as I know this is probably the most basic form of "modding" available. I just joined the assassins guild and I find the armor to be pretty weak looking. I just want to swap out the Shouded Armor (torso piece) with the elven armor model so that I can get the bonus from the set armor perk while still looking the way I want. Thank you for the help. MShoap13
I'm not sure on this, as I'm unable to use it, but I believe BSAOpt is what people are using to extract files from the .bsa archives. It won't work on XP as it requires Vista or 7, but you'd use it to browse to the correct .nif in Meshes.bsa (located in your \Skyrim\Data\ folder) and then extract it to any folder. Next, find the filepath and name of the Thieves Guild armor in the .bsa (still in BSAOpt) then rename the .nif for Elven armor you extracted earlier (if necessary) and put it under \Skyrim\Data\Meshes\*wherever Thieves Guild armor is*\. This will globally change the armor for your gender so it will affect NPCs and you. Edited November 21, 2011 by MShoap13
