Improving the Blades

My own additions:

7. The Spy - A former Blade who has to be found somewhere in the world (there is a person like this in an out-of-the-way Inn all ready in the game, it's the Inn where you have to go during a Dark Brotherhood quest)

8. The Thief - Could be used to silently pilfer documents from Thalmor outposts outside the province, Used to learn of any plans they might have against the Blades and Sky Haven Temple.

Yeah one of those is how we get to know when the thalmor is about to attack! Brilliant :P

Love these ideas - would also like to build a final mission into the questline. Something like the final mission of ME2 in the respect that you have to pick specific people to do specific tasks and if you do it wrong/haven't been a good leader you can lose people. Or maybe force a choice - you can save only one!

yeah thatd be awesome or like as you progress you lose people one by one (either by death or some circumstance) until its just up to you.... or something like that. The one thing is like the big climax was Alduin so i dont think it should be too big.... if you get what i mean. Alduin was supposed to be the worst evil the world has ever seen, if theres something that overshadows him, like with the thalmor, i dont know it just doesnt make sense to me.

Also i think we are all forgetting about the penitus oculatus. They are the replacement for the Blades pretty much so i think there should be something with them as well.

And we should brainstorm ideas for upgrades to SHT. I say SHT should get a map like at every stormcloak/imperial camp. The table in the middle be fixed and many more chairs. I feel that the armory is too small as well, and we got a place to upgrade weapons but not make any.... There should be some kind of bladeforge that is the only place you can make Blade armor or something like that... There should be banners all over the place. Plus i think we need plenty of trainers in SHT as well.

Ideas for Sky Haven Temple Upgrades:

Blacksmith Forge - Outside on the plateau overlooking the Reach, opposite the training area.

Enchanter - In one of the side rooms leading to the plateau

Alchemy Lab - In one of the lower levels so we can have the perfect tempeture for all our ingredients (Merely RP prespective on that, most things like cool, dry places when storing, so it would make some sense)

Training Area - Needs to be expanded, as it is now, there's only enough room for 3, maybe 4 people to train at a time, needs to be expanded to maybe 8 or 10 so more recruits could train.

Bedrooms - We need a master bedroom for ourselves, and since we're in a mountain, we could make it at the peak of the temple, maybe expand it so we can use more of the mountain for defense. The other bedrooms should be nice, but still pretty basic in terms of lurxuries. We could make it so if we recruit someone from a rich family, they could help us with finances, and they could bring some of their own stuff to decorate their room.

Dragon Roost - If we plan on changing the Blades from "kill em all and the the gods sort em out" to "Maybe not all of them are bad after all" we'd want to have an area for the dragons to rest and sleep in a protected location. We can also use this as an area to learn more about the Dragon language, maybe even have a dragon teach us the language and then when ever another dragon speaks in their tongue we can actually understand and it's represented in the subtitles of the conversation what was really said.

Dining Area - Pretty much self-explanatory, big table, lots of chairs, food, etc.

Kitchen Area - We'd need a pretty big kitchen to accommodate all our new recruits and any dragons that might join us as well. So pretty big, thinking maybe a palace sized kitchen, big enough for at least a half dozen cooks, servers, etc.

Farm Area - We need a farm with animals and plants, Horses, goats, cows, chickens, potato plants, cabbages, leeks, wheat, etc. We need to make Sky Haven Temple self-sufficient, and a farm would put us on the right track.

Meadery - We of course need one of these, we're in Skyrim, and we need meads and ales, and wines for celebrations and general winding down from a hard day working and training.

----

That's all I got right now, but it's a lot.

I'm definitely down with a lot of that. As far as SHT improvements go, right after all the crafting stations and a player suite the next-highest priority for me is an Armory. I really enjoy seeing the fruits of my labor arrayed before me as a demonstration of what I've accomplished. This armory would probably be a separate cell (for optimization purposes and so players could choosen either a small, medium, large or extra large armory based on what their hardware can accommodate). The standard version would have perhaps 10 mannequins, 20 wall weapon mounts, and 4-10 weapon cases. Also, if there is any way to make display pedestals for objects other than weapons, that's important. Seriously. I need to get my trophy on.

Well, the Thieves guild has a few things that you find during jobs or are rewards for doing a number of extra jobs for the guild that go on display in the guild hall, so it's possible.

Yeah, from what I understand of how the CS works (based of the GECK) if you can do something like that via a conversation then you should be able to make it into a user-intractable device. Probably take something like the weapon mount and change it so that interacting with it opens your inventory and you select the item, which is centered on a pedestal and havoc-dropped then frozen (which is something like what they do with the weapon displays I think - since they freeze shortly after you place them).

Seriously, cause I want my Elder Scroll in the Blades Museum! Oh, there could be a conversation that pulls out annoying quest items and puts them on display.

I'd like to say a few things- mainly, about integrating the Blades into either faction.

Integrating them with the Empire is out of the question- Not only do they no longer worship Talos, but they're basically the Thalmor's b*tches at this point. Besides- the Blades never served the Empire. They served the Emperor. More specifically, the Dragonborn Emperor.

Integrating them into the Stormcloaks seems stupid, in my opinion. But that's mostly because I've grown to see Ulfrik as a someone who will do anything for power. Besides, isn't there a Thalmor Dossier that specifically states that he's a Thalmor plant/asset?

I think it would make more sense for the Blades to remain neutral, at least in the case of the Civil War. Not towards the Thalmor, though. Screw the Thalmor. Think the Grey Wardens from Dragon Age. They try to remain politically neutral.

Just thought I'd drop my opinion in.

I agree, we need the Blades to remain pivotal, but neutral in the war. If we are going to go the path of integration, we need a way to become the leader of the side they join with, though that side would only be the Stormcloaks, I want to throw Ulfric off of High Hrothgar so badly for murdering Torygg with the Voice, a weapon that should only, if ever be used in times of war, not in honorable combat with someone who has absolutely no defense against it. Even spells have some way to defend aganist, but shouting? Torygg never stood a chance, and once that happened, once he used the Voice, the challenge went from honorable battle, to outright murder. So, if we do go the path of integration, we need a way to depose Ulfric Stormcloak, either by death, or exile. If we exile him, his vocal cords will have to be cut out so he can never again use the Voice as a way to get power. He'll have to do it through skill and skill alone.

I also back the neutral position in the civil war. Perhaps a engagement with the other factions here and there, but neutral none the less. And with all of these theories and wishes for this mod, I easily see this as one of the top mods for Skyrim, you know I'd support it to the fullest. I love this.
