Missing objects (both from Workshop menu and world)

Heya,

so, I've gotten back into Fallout 4 and decided to go crazy with the bounty of great mods that have been created in the last 7 months or so. Needless to say, it took me a while to figure out what works, what requires DLC (which I don't have and refuse to buy until they're dirt-cheap, at least) and how I could get mods that may or may not like each other to work without a hitch.

So, after about a day's worth of searching, downloading, installing and ingame testing, I've got just about everything to look and feel just the way I want it. There's just one problem I've run into that I cannot, for the life of me, track down (and haven't found any info about):

Storage objects like bureaus, multiple cabinets and a few other things are missing - not only from the Workshop (they still have their entries in the list, cost and all, but there's no mesh, texture and, when I place it with Place Everywhere, no collision) but from the world too (i.e. floating items that fall to the ground as soon as you touch them).

I've tried deactivating groups of mods to see if they were responsible but I've had no luck so far. So, if anybody has had similar problems or knows that one (or several) of the mods in my list are directly responsible for that, I'd appreciate it if you could point it out to me.

Aaand of course, I found the solution about two hours later:

Seems that in my case, Ethreon's Vanilla Extension doesn't always work properly when you use the compiled version instead of the one with loose files.

And the best part: The game basically retroactively corrected the mistake - Every object and container is where it should be, even in the cell I loaded the game in.

Hope this thread helps if somebody else runs into this issue.

Glad you found that particular problem, however you may be unaware that there are some issues with Settlement Keywords and at a quick glance I think you might have potential conflicts between mods patched for SKE versus SK. I don't think the two are compatible anymore. The original Settlement Keywords mod hasn't been supported in a very long time. Settlement Keywords Expanded and a couple other variants were made to pick up the support slack. However I believe that even they all have their own issues. I'm not the expert on this topic by any means but everything I've read makes it look like a hot mess. In fact lots of settlement crafting related mods have stopped supporting any of the keywords frameworks altogether and gone back to the vanilla menu and/or use injection menus. At this point in time the keywords framework for armor and weapons is very well supported though. Good luck and enjoy your new game with all the wonderful mods available. :)

Yea, it's a mess! I've been trying to track down CTD's and I'm blaming these at the moment. SKE, SSE for SKE, SK Independent, SKI Homemaker replacement.. etc... Nobody has really made it clear what's going on here and LOOT is telling me there's incompatibilities between them too. I don't want to lose all the crap that I've built by uninstalling them either..

Well for starters, I hope you aren't trying to use all of them at once, that will conflict so hard it's not even funny. Personally I decided to stick with vanilla workshop menus, all the settlement decorating mods I want have a vanilla version or use menu injection which is pretty safe. If you really must use some SK variant, pick just one only. You'll probably have to use the Universal Missing Menus Fixer to straighten out your mess after you've uninstalled all the unnecessary SK variants and/or if you decide to go back to vanilla. The menu fixer is here: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12192/? At first glance that looks like a tutorial on injecting menus (and it is) but the files tab also has a menu fixer download.

SKE, SSE for SKE, SKI, etc are all competing mods. All they do is change the menu structure only. If you uninstall them and use the menu fixer the actual objects you built such as chairs, etc will still be in your settlements because those mods don't add objects to menus only structural changes. Good luck!

Well, I've had a few random CTDs in the last few days myself - don't know what caused them though.

I think they occur when the game's trying to load new cells (I had my first one today when I approached the Corvega plant and my second one when I exited an interior cell in Lexington), but there doesn't seem to be a consistent pattern or object error behind this but rather something that will mess everything up every now and then but will perfectly fine on your next try.

The worst part is that I can't tell if it's due to the mods (I'm no stranger to Skyrim and New Vegas modding and CTDs, so I know I may very well be putting too much strain on the game) or if Bethesda goofed up.

Given that they still haven't managed to fix the Settlements Resource bug, I'm not ruling out the latter.
