Better Skyrimnexus Categories

Might I recommend some better, more consistent categories for Skyrimnexus before it gets too confusing? A lot of the current categories overlap and they're not really sorted into MAJOR types of mods.

I think what's needed is more hierarchy in the categories, they can be done just in renaming the categories. I really think this needs to be done before there are too many mods and impossible to sort out. While tags do help sort of this out, its not the end-all solution since tags can often be incorrect and not descriptive enough.

How it Works

One of the big changes is that textures/models will be merged into new content or edited content, where retextures and such are all under edited content. Anything that involves editing existing content will be classified as edited content, this would include retextures, reuse of existing geometry, creating a new NPC using existing faces/hair/etc, creating a new shop with existing structures. New content basically means new geometry and a higher level of creation required for the modder, most content should fall under the edited parent category.

A colon denotes a parent category, while a hyphen denotes a grandchild category. I've put in brackets which existing categories should go into the new categories, some of these really should be split into multiple categories before its too late.

End Notes

I really hope this sort of thing can be implemented, because it's already becoming confusing to find content in overlapping categories and larger-than-it-should-be categories.

I'll even volunteer to help move things into the right category if you need help.

I completely agree with segregating the edited vanilla content from the new content. I am already irritated by looking at all of the reskins of nightingale or dark brotherhood armor. I would imagine these types of reskins will continue to grow and it would be nice to be able to separate them from new stuff.

Thank you.
