Bored of Skyrim?

Actually, yes. I started my second character two or three days back and it was interesting at first but then it kinda hit: "Is this all?"

I still play it regularely, but it's usually just 30-45 minutes at a time before I get bored.

Probably the two main issues that make me bored are Skyrim itself, the environtment that is, sure it's a beauty and there's a lot of details, but still the barren mostly white/shades of grey world is imho very dull. The second issue is that I simply don't get the "feel" of being part of the world as I did in Oblivion.

Now that you mentioned it, I didntt really feel like a part of skyrim as i did with oblivion aswell... In oblivion, i always felt as if i was living a second life. In skyrim, not so much. Hell, it didnt even feel like i was a dragonborn. Felt as if i was just a guy with a fancy title.

I have to say I was bored after about day 3.

I felt that I levelled far too quickly after hardly having done anything in the world.

I dislike the monster and loot levelling system intensely although it is better than vanilla Oblivion.

I understand we are in the barren wastes but surely there could have been a much wider variety of animals to come across.

Most of it is minor quibbling but I just don't feel connected in any way with my character.

I agree with other posters though. Things will definitely change for the better once the modders really get their teeth stuck into this game.

If you are tired of grinding your EZ mode self sufficient jack of all trades toon, roll a new toon and only pick skills that befit the class type and stay away from Fast Travel option completely. There are lots of random encounters you meet during your travels which are very cool. People who use fast travel exclusively will miss out completely.

There are also lots of locations that quests will never take you too that you will undoubtedly come across on your journey. One time I came across the skeletal remains holding a flag atop the mountains (reminded me of the first man on the moon mission), only this time the guy reached his goal to the very top but died due to exhaustion, haha. Got some interesting loot of which I would have never attained if I just warped around using Fast Travel.

I can't say I'm bored yet, I've only played 24 hours all up since release but I don't feel drawn into the game, no real connection or care for the world, its characters or even my own. My character feels yet again like an errand girl, certainly none of the inspiration to base a story on like I had planned. The mad banter of a certain psychotic offered some entertainment so far at least.

To each their own. I was bored of Oblivion after the first 2 hours. My highest level in Vanilla Oblivion was level 10. The only thing that kept my interest a year later was the modding community but it was not enough to hold my attention Never finished the main quest and although I purchased Shivering Isle, never finised that expansion either.

Bored? If you don't cheat and play the game intelligently, how could you be bored?

Emotionally disconnected? I agree that I do not feel as a part of -- or needed -- in this game as in Oblivion. Too many people are mean or dismissive or don't say "thank you" when you risk your life to find his rusty old freaking helmet. Even your friends are cool. And when you achieve, few remember, or respect you more, or exclaim "You're the hero of Kvatach!!" or "You're the Divine Crusader!" That never got old and made you feel good and important within the game. Hell, you'd think a Dragonborn would be a HUGE deal. Instead, you get anonymous notes.s

As with Oblivion...which I still play...after I ran through the fury of the main quest and all the other questies, I settled in to exploring, maybe a companion, go horseback riding, diving, etc. , maybe taking up archery or thievery or murder, like Bonnie and Clyde.

The music in Oblivion really was totally right. Skyrim seems like generic movie-track LOTR stuff without any personality.

But bored? This isn't Battlefield. Half of this game is adventure, and you kind of have to understand that mindset and appreciate what it means.
