@Draconiss, Are you running any kind of firewall software besides Windows Firewall (it may be incorporated into your antivirus or your router/modem)? You can try turning off any potential firewall and possibly even do some port forwarding (you're going to have to do some Googling here).

oh wow, well you set me on the right path. I decided before i start doing the google thing i would check my task manager. My computer came with mcafee anti-virus (which i disabled months ago). For some reason the process that runs in the background still imposes some restrictions. So i just terminated the process and now it works fine. Thanks, you told me exactly what i needed to hear to locate the problem.

Please make a post in the NMM Bug Tracker detailing your issue and how you resolved it. It may not be useful for actually tracking bugs, but it will help spread the fact that antivirus/software firewalls can interfere with NMM.

I'm also getting this problem. The manager was working fine a few days ago, now I get this.

BTW, just now I tried running it as administrator and the first mod I installed worked fine. All subsequent mods give me the following.

Had the problem that NMM said in the login screen "Cannot connect to the nexus server...". After playing with some settings on my firewall (Smoothwall express) the problem appeared to be the "Web Proxy" service. So the workaround for me is to disable this service while using NMM.
