darkelf88
(Solved) I decided to start playing FO4 again so I could get some use out of that season pass I bought before launch. I downloaded all the DLCs to date and re-installed FO4 on my non-exfat hard drive so I could use NMM. Now I have been having issues with first person FOV settings even with the changed/added lines in my Fallout4.ini and Fallout4Prefs.ini files. It took me a while to even realize my FOV was wrong as I took a break from the game for a while, but when my eyes began hurting from the crappy 70-something default FOV that Bethesda stupidly forces upon us I remembered that FOV in this game has major issues. So I opened the console and typed "FOV 90" just to check if my FOV wasn't already correct and I am just having issues with my eyes... not expecting it to work obviously the view zoomed out to 90 FOV and just as I expected would happen, the FOV reverted back to its narrow default settings the second I closed the console. So I figured maybe my ini's got changed somehow. I went to check and they were still set as "read only" and the settings were still as I had left them previously: C:\Users\[name]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4.iniC:\Users\[name]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs.iniand also in the Games directory _\Fallout 4\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs.ini [Display]fDefaultWorldFOV=90fDefault1stPersonFOV=90 I have these lines under the [Display] sections and NOT the [interface] sections for all three .ini files as mentioned to do in every guide out there and also set to "read only". Curious, I load back into the game and try the refreshini command in the console, once without first changing the FOV to 90 (nothing happened) then the second time (after restarting the game) changing the fov in the console and using "refreshini" before exiting the console. Again, didn't work. WTF am I doing wrong guys?! It used to work and now it doesn't!!! Or at the very least allow FOV to be changed via console!!! It worked in Skyrim, why the f*** is it not working now!? This is why I stopped playing... You go to play a bethesda title... the game makes your eyes/brain hurt so you spend hours trying to fix it. You can't fix it so you make a post like this online and wait even more in hopes of finding a solution. I just wanted to play some f***ing Fallout! Not "Headache Simulator 4"! ...its just a simple thing like FOV... why does it have to be so damn difficult!? darkelf88
(Solved!) Ok, If you guys are having this issue as well, I checked my Fallout4Custom.ini and noticed it had lines for FOV as well even though I didnt see them there before when using the "find next" feature in notepad. the settings were as follows:[Display]fDefaultWorldFOV=80.0000fDefault1stPersonFOV=70.0000 I changed them to:fDefaultWorldFOV=90.0000fDefault1stPersonFOV=90.0000 Now it works... though just know that if you use the fov command in the console it will still get reverted to the crap defaults again and you will have to restart the game... *facepalm* come on Bethesda... really... I know Gamebryo sucks and all but that cant be your fallback excuse for hiring bad devs...
