Lokiron
The kids in this game are really annoying, actually. I think it's an intended joke from the developers that you can't kill them.
TheNax
Lovely, as said above, it really ruins the immersion when children are spared. And it's basicly all games they can do whatever they like, and you can't do anything back. Specially that jarls son / daughter!!!
Jackal2233
Kids will be kids, think only parents will understand that one though
Lokiron
Kids will be kids, think only parents will understand that one though Behaviour aside, I still agree it can be immersion breaking. I am not strongly advocating they should be killable, but I can certainly see the arguments for it. The arguments against are self explanatory, I should think. Seremoth
You are an Arch-mage, master of many guilds, dragonslayer etc etc and suddenly a child trolls you "you must be the new servant, i'd like my meat raw" or"you are here to lick my father's boots eh? good job" The first time you are like "kids hah, they say what they want"After the 10th time you are like "FFFFFUUUUUUUUUuuuuuu"
Terralventhe
I still find it hilarious that all of the squeamish people turn their noses up and try to imply that you're some kind of bloodthirsty sociopath for wanting the option to do an authentic evil run where your character doesn't take crap from anyone, even a small child. These are the same kind of people that caused such masterpieces like Assault on District 13 to be ruined when it got remade because they cut out this scene. Seriously, you're not any less of a sociopathic mass murderer if you happen to spare kids - particularly obnoxious, and sometimes outright murderous, kids at that. Seriously. Taking FO3 again, how many people do you think the kids in Little Lamplight have butchered mercilessly out of pure, bratty spite? I'm willing to bet plenty. everybodysop
Yeah, it's pretty dumb and pretentious to think that sparing kids in the role-playing of a ruthless character makes it acceptable, while the mention of taking them out is absolutely horrible! Saying things like that are comparisons to reality, not role playing. If you want to compare it to reality, sparing the kids is still probably even worse, because if you're role-playing a ruthless character and you've ransacked their home and their whole family is dead.. now you've just set them up for an awesome life ahead of them. Thanks for ruining every thing, but then letting me stay. Haha.
mdobrowney
I say kill'em all. It is just a game. If you wish to be evil that is kool. I am all for running into a town and wiping everyone out.
Terralventhe
Yeah, really. There's such things as 'fates worse than death', after all. I remember in one tabletop session, one of the guys in the party was an utter and complete monster.. wiped out an entire village, then spared a single baby boy on a whim, took the child with him as if to adopt it, only to grow tired of its ceaseless crying after about two days, so he opened up a hellpit and tossed the baby in to be raised by his demon minions. But hey, at least he didn't kill the kid, right?
