Skyrim...WITH GUNS!

I would only like to see guns if they were implemented properly such as have steampunk style guns that were a type of recently discovered ancient Dwemer machinery, or you find the blueprints and have a use for Dwemer machine parts you find, just an idea http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/smile.gif

I think if u were to add guns to the game, it'd be a really ancient Dwemer looking ones, sumthing like this from wow: http://www.wowhead.com/item=45870#screenshots:id=157379

It could function exactly the same as a bow (with same mechanic) except that each shot is instant and is always the maximum range a bow can achieve. To balance it, u could lower its dmg compared to a bow if it 'reloads' faster than a bow, or raise the dmg but make the reload slower . The reloading animation could be like those mini-shot guns which clicks and does a spin with a flick of the wrist :P

This would be awesome tbh, even more so if one gold coin is used as each ammo! Gold-shooting Boomstick! :D:D:D:D:D

I'm totally on with the musket/flintlock pistol idea...I'd mod a stovepipe hat and make a witch-hunter character. ;-) But that's as far as I'd want to go with guns in this very fantasy universe...the guns would have to suck, too...a good archer could load and fire three shots in the time it took the fastest pistoleer to load and fire one, and the shot might only do as much damage as a well-placed crossbow bolt.

I think if one wanted to go any further with guns, I'd suggest that the Fallout universe may be a better place to try...it already has all the gun mechanics in place in the engine. ^.^

Well, the idea for a pistol so far is slow reload, high damage, LadyAubrie. In that context, a crossbow might perhaps be along the lines of middle-ground'ing between the two. Not to mention with a flintlock, you could employ different kinds of powders or metals for your bullets to create new damage archetypes.

Perhaps It would have futuristic weapons and gear. This would be included and explained in a series of quests:

By random spawn, there would be a soldier in futuristic gear that attacks you, which you kill(obvious) and then you loot him for: a "strange weapon", a "strange map" and a "strange device". Upon getting these items, a playback in the device begins, which directs you to a hidden bunker marked on the strange map. A password is given to you to enter. upon reaching and entering with the password, the other people(3 of them)in the bunker are alarmed and threaten to attack you if you did not tell them why you are here. After which you explain what had happened. It turns out they were "archaeologists" from the future who had travelled back in time to further study the ancient texts-dragon language which they had recently discovered. Unfortunately there was an accident and their time machine was damaged. 4 of their members were lost, and you ask them that the strange soldier you saw was their member, to which they say yes, and you inform them that you accidentally killed him in self-defense. Angered, they threaten to kill you and stick an explosive device on you until you find the remaining 3 members. The quest to find them will be given. During the quest two of the members accompany you. For the last member, he will be in the open, attacked by a dragon. After killing the dragon they witness you absorbing its soul. They are fascinated and they take you back to the base to ask you questions. You then explain everything about the dragon text, the Dragonborn, and the Thu'um. You also tell them that you are the only known dragonborn in this timeline. A new quest starts by finding components for their time machine(a portal). A series of quests then follow, involving you and them navigating through old nord ruins with dragon text. Upon one of those ruins, they uncover a dragon claw that could grant any mortal the powers of the Dragonborn and a new, powerful word wall that could make one the most powerful. unfortunately one of the members later betrays the team to gain this power. The quest for looking for him starts. Upon finding him(along with the other members), the members persuade him to stop. Intoxicated by power, he uses the word to transform into a dragon. The dragon then kills one of the members(a minor not so special member), then heads for the time machine to go back to the future. When you go to their bunker, you and the members navigate through the bunker which he is tearing up for the machine to destroy the power supply for the machine, which you succeed. Upon doing this, he gets enraged and threatens to destroy all of skyrim. You then have to defeat him. After defeating him, you go back and destroy the word wall and the claw. The crew then thanks you for all you have done and give you some equipment and teach you how to use it. They will stay to fix their machine where you can help by selling them iron and steel. Some will sell you gear and weapons or offer to follow you on your travels.

Guns would range from conventional weaponry(bullets) to energy weapons(batteries). They cannot be upgraded. Ammunition can only be bought(don't worry, the members should sell a large amount for a fair price), and guns ignore defense. There should be an aiming iron sight mode, and the ammunition count is displayed on the gun. Guns are either one-handed or two handed, and the shooting and reloading is pretty much like most fps games. Hope this gives some ideas :)
