Bethesda rendered ALL of Tamriel?

Looked around the forums, didn't see any discussion of this. And I'm surprised. (Close this thread and point me to the proper location if I overlooked something.)

Bethesda basically rendered the geography of everywhere in Tamriel, to a very accurate point.

While they obviously hadn't included foliage and villages, this does create the large possibility of expanding from beyond Skyrim. It may be from a Bethesda, DLC, but what if it isn't? What if that wasn't their intention for doing this?

What is the likelihood of the mod community coming together to create potentially the greatest mod any game has ever seen? For all of those hardcore Morrowind fans out there... How far would you be willing to go to see your world recreated with modern-day graphical technology? To be a part of that? I'm just so utterly astounded that I'm not seeing people go insane over this.

Its been mentioned several times however i dont remember where, the height map is the small part though. : p

I have some ideas for using it myself though for a mod but i dont want to say anything more as my project is a secret for now. : >

I wouldn't expect any of the bigger landmasses to ever be DLC. Highrock maybe. Highrock isn't big enough for its own game. The rest is just because Bethesda dudes are as nerdy about this stuff as the fans.

*cough*Daggerfall*cough*

Daggerfall proves Highrock wasn't big enough for its own game. It took place in Highrock and Hammerfell. Get that cough checked.

hard to get perspective overall. Seems morrowind, hammerfell, and other areas aren't really feasible as the worlds end is right there, however, cyrodiil does appear to be mostly in tact and could be a dlc (thalmor war and whatnot, half the towns would be torched anyhow, so really only a few cities would be truely there and rendered...still, would be nice to stomp around in the old haunts if they still exist, and in the meantime, modders will most certainly be using this to full advantage

But, this will require a lot of asset "robbing" from oblivion if they want to start constructing towns...and perhaps a bit of lore understanding so not to just replicate oblivion.

might go check this out myself to understand the perspective better...it all seemed a bit small overall..but then again, that could simply be because he was up rather high

Daggerfall was only a small part of High Rock. It was not nearly the entire province.

Personally, I think I'm going to wait before I ever start trying to mod in this space or get a mod that works in this space. I want to wait and find out what Bethesda does with the place.

I'm excited about the idea of revisiting a modernized version of the rest of the provinces, but I'm more excited to see if/what Bethesda does with that as opposed to the mod community for the time being.
