ButaneBoss
Hello folks. I'm a right noob of GECK and I would love some assistance for this issue I'm having. I had placed a my custom armour (a simple reskin of a Vault Suit like the noob I am) in an existing interior area. When I picked up my armour in the game, it removed the world object from the level but left a static, non-colliding version in its place. Even stranger, I quickloaded to a point before picking it up to find the static armour still there. Could anyone please help me identify the source of the issue and how to fix it? I have been Googling this issue to no avail. Many thanksBHD
Ladez
Someone posted about it a while back and the solution was to move inactive plugins out of the data folder. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4578135-armor-ghost-appears-after-its-taken/
ButaneBoss
Forgive my ignorance, but how would I go about doing that?
dubiousintent
Some mod managers (Mod Organizer & Wrye Flash for certain) will take care of that for you. Otherwise you will need to use Windows Explorer, navigate to the "Fallout New Vegas\Data" folder, and manually deal with the inactive plugins. Problem will be with identifying which files are inactive. as Windows Explorer will have no way of telling that. "Dealing with" consists of either dragging the files to another folder, or "renaming" them such as by adding a different extension like ".inactive" to the existing mane. Something that the game will not recognize. Of course you have to manually remove the added extension or drag them back from the folder where you stashed them to be able to make them "active" again. -Dubious- Edited July 28, 2016 by dubiousintent
ButaneBoss
This is really mighty odd. I always use Mod Organiser to load the game with the mods. All of the mods and plugins I have are enabled and sorted with LOOT. I have also cleaned my mod using FNVEdit and validated the integrity of game files through Steam to no avail. What's also odd is that copies of the armour spawned through the console disappear normally after being picked up; it's just this one that I've placed in the vanilla cell Vault11c that's causing bother. I have also tried placing it in cell Vault11b instead but that had the same 'ghost' outcome.
