Archiemcfeathery Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 <NOT FIXED> My menu is missingRight so- I have looked everywhere for a solution for my problem that just showed up and nothing seems to be working or the exact issue i'm having. So while I just started the Honest Hearts DLC, I had to alt-tab for a moment to check up on something. But when I re-clicked the icon to get back into game the game wouldn't pop up. So I closed it with task manager and thought that was the end of that...However when I relaunched the game, it starts off normally but when you get to the "menu" It flashes the 'Content downloaded' message before showing me only my mouse and the slideshow in the backround. No menu to click at all and I've done alot to see if it was my mods but everything seems to be in check. No masters missing. I even launced the game purely mod free and it still doesn't show the menu. I'm at a loss here and I really need help. I'll post my loadorder just in case.GameMode=FalloutNV FalloutNV.esm=1DeadMoney.esm=1HonestHearts.esm=1OldWorldBlues.esm=1LonesomeRoad.esm=1GunRunnersArsenal.esm=1ClassicPack.esm=1MercenaryPack.esm=1TribalPack.esm=1CaravanPack.esm=1ELECTRO-CITY - Highways and Byways.esm=1RRCompanionVault.esm=1UWHNV-Core.esm=1More Traits.esm=1AWSW.esm=1FCOMaster.esm=1wsex.esm=1ELECTRO-CITY - CompletedWorkorders.esm=1NevadaSkies.esm=1SpeedyResources.esm=1Mission Mojave - Ultimate Edition.esp=1Follower Home Marker.esp=1dressup.esp=1Smalltalk.esp=1FCO - NPC Changes.esp=1Ultimate Invisible Wall Remover.esp=1NVNovacApartament.esp=1wsexInnuendoNPCs.esp=1Alternative Start.esp=1Spencer 1882 shotgun.esp=1AL Black Corsetry and Blanc dress.esp=1Eyepatch.esp=1Follower Friendly Transporter.esp=1FCO - GlowingOne.esp=1FCO - OHSB NPC Edits.esp=1FCO - Russell.esp=0Animated Sleeping.esp=1Readius_NV.esp=1More Traits Update.esp=1UnlimitedCompanions.esp=1UWHNV-Addon-Time for Bed NV.esp=0UWHNV-Addon-DLC.esp=1UWHNV-Addon-NoCompanionsRoom.esp=1UWHNV-Addon-GRA.esp=1jocutiepie.esp=1Roberts_NewVegas.esp=1Male_Sleepwear_Open.esp=11nivVSLArmors.esp=1updatedWearGlassesandMasks.esp=1Surgical_Masks.esp=1Companions Relax.esp=1wsexInnuendoAnims.esp=1populatedcasino.esp=1Courier Vault.esp=1sjs_bellydancedress.esp=1UWHNV-Addon-FollowerHome.esp=1NVBabyDeathclawCommander.esp=1Reactive People - Ultimatum.esp=1Guitar Hero.esp=1_Fh hair test.esp=1wsex-DSI.esp=1RealSmokes.esp=1Courier Vests.esp=1Patient Gown at Startup by TheCalculator.esp=1Nouk's Hairs.esp=1Armor Replacer Child NPC Fix.esp=1Sprint Mod.esp=1CAGE 1.9.3.2.esp=1Tailor Maid - NV.esp=1Plague Doctor Outfit NV.esp=1jodragongirl.esp=1UrgeWasterScarf.esp=1Xaz_Clothes.esp=1PonyShirts.esp=1CorrosionDress.esp=1Realistic Portable Tent.esp=1T6M Gambler Female Suit.esp=1The Mod Configuration Menu.esp=1FCO - Roberts Patch.esp=1NevadaSkies - TTW Edition.esp=0NevadaSkies - Ultimate DLC Edition.esp=1NevadaSkies - Basic Edition.esp=1
dubiousintent Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Game menus are ".XML" files in the "Data\Menus" folder tree. Sounds like you are missing the one for the main menu (likely this is "start_menu.xml" but I am not sure and don't have access to the game at the moment to check). The file may be missing or corrupt. If you don't have a backup then you will need to have Steam "verify local files" which should restore it. -Dubious-.
joshnice Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) I would recommend downloading fallout new vegas edit to see if any esm's are missing or if the load order is incorrect, i think gopher has a video on the issue? Even when I had no mods initialised my menu still didn't show. Edited July 28, 2016 by joshnice

I deleted everything associated with MCM and my menu came back! However now I can't load/make a new save as it crashes..

I have done this and nothing has changed. I even flushed steam's cache and it still won't budge.
Purr4me Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) Method / tools used to install the data with? back up one moment here, are you trying to load a saved game that has MCM's code in it? because that wont work any more. this could be your issue, IF you have a game never seeing MCM code, use that one and things should work or run a new game. You do not delete data, you uninstall it. IF you use other mods that also use *.xml files ? they were overwritten.and are still there.https://s26.postimg.org/w8r8vtbt5/all_that_should_be_there.jpgthat is basic game structure ,if you see and interface folder? delete it. I never got MCM to really work and had "unchecked it" a few weeks ago. The game was working fine untill yesterday. Even if I was trying to load a save that used MCM code, It crashes even when trying to launch a new game. So should I delete the mods with .xml files then?
Purr4me Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 you use NMM to uninstall them IF nmm is working correctly it should solve the problem. It's is based off of fomm's code so I am making an assumption the FOmod's work correctly with the uninstaller, NMM makes backups..or it should be..of the mods data that gets overwritten. If it's not ? you need to really consider a different path. I seen some where here there is a master reset feature in NMM that might work. But your saved game files are damaged, the only way to rectify them immediately is to reinstall MCM and test it, THIS time you uninstall the packages, Not delete them.---------------------and last, it might be steam too. reboot to make sure.
Purr4me Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Please don't take this the wrong way but your mods list is a mess.Mission Mojave - Ultimate Edition.esp=1 <----known to cause problems. Just sayin. Any mod that contains deleted components will exhibit CTD'sand it's not compatible with a lot of those mods Either. If I were to be picky.
