you over react

save files (for games), music, pictures

not operating system files or drivers (why would you think that? you not insisting that i have to make new family pictures everytime i buy a computer are you)

the things you would keep if you bought a new computer

that said I have wanted to delete all fallout 3 data before and i don't know all the locations that it keeps data

what i know is that its in my documents and appdata/local

is that the only places?

also assume that this is not the problem, what would be the next step?

Over react? really ?

sir or madam, replace the game files or don't. You asked for help. I am not here to be evaluated nor evaluate others.

My only concern is that data. I know what does what. If you had not come here, you would also know what does what...but you are here asking for help.

Now. does that make any sense to you?

your sadly mistaken if you believe transfers are fool proof because they are not.

there are no next steps. use what you have because it is apparent you won't do what is required.

I don't have time to be evaluated on an unknown problem.

Perhaps i have did not word the post well, regardless I don't see how attacking my person helps.

I now see that I misunderstood you post about how everything is corrupted and I have destroyed everything I treasure

Saying that i think the game files should not be replaced is simply bunkum and balderdash

you may or may not have noticed but I asked for to file locations you want me to delete, you know so I can delete them and get new files, like you wanted

I would very much like to know where all the assumptions you are making of me are coming from

becuse you're right I asked for help -- not to be painted an idiot

Now becuse this isn't an instant messaging service and so that i may have steps to follow immediately after this one; assuming that replacement/elimination of game files does not fix the problem

what would the next step be.

(please stop insulting please)

you use the game uninstaller and then delete it's game folder ,it's that simple.

I'd advise to keep things on a less personal nature, this is tech here. Cold hard facts.

Placing me into a bait will not go well. Simple. I don't bite....much.

now i see why you got so frustrated

which led to my... emotional outburst....

side note: wasn't bait I meant all of that (but enough of that)

An uninstaller should delete files in appdata correct, steam did not, so is there any files else that i need to get rid of (registry entries maybe)

Am I over thinking this still

Again sorry for emotional outburst I hope that we can move past this

It is the simple things that get us ALL into trouble .And I can add maybe whats wrong in the world today.

Core data, base game data can be corrupted too easily to simply ignore.

This place...is a haven for simple things going really really wrong. Too dam easy for it to take place.

your saved game file was clean, it is the root source files that are bad. IF you don't have any mods, it is a bsa archive that is broken.

Compressed data can be considered weak, there may be text with in the file as in file names but internally missing data within the archive.

This is commonly known as a bad download, a transfer of some kind from one place to another.

An operating system can be made weak by bad blocks of data, a worn out hard drive can have really bad blocks on it...right where the game data is stored, and to trans fer all the faults from one place to another it carries those fault with it..."corrupted' but appears to be intact.

we get here millions of bad download that appear to be whole until we go to install them, they are incomplete "corrupted".

Simple things are hard to find. it just takes 1 single semi colon in a scripts, in a mesh file, a bit or byte to be wrong and it all falls down.

I will save your game on that server for you so you have it later.

I have to most curious thing to report:

So after i did the uninstall using the software you linked to I ran the game, I didn't bother rebinding my keys (I don't use the normal layout) becuse i thought it would crash

It didn't I exited the game and i was gona chome here and say "i can't believe that worked" but then i thought I'd better test to the end of the vault, I simply can't use the default controls so I rebound them, then the game crashed like before.

Intrigued I deleted FalloutPrefs.ini (the thing with control bindings) and ran the game again, no crash (in that room I didn't go farther) then without exiting the game I reloaded my save, rebond my keys and it crashed again.

here is my FalloutPrefs.ini:
