on game launch, "prior" to clicking on continue, open the settings button and set your preferences there instead of directly editing ini files. load thew game.

test key's , hard save and hit ESC reload that last saved game and continue.

If you need vanilla default ini files, I can provide them for you, just don't edit them. Let the game and launcher edit them.

If that works, then things are ok, but if you continue to see this problem with ini edits ?

1 of two things are bad.

  1. your PC has a macros virus on it and is not getting caught.
  2. you made a mistake in the manual edit.

I did not directly edit the ini files, All I did was bind the keys with ingame settings menu

I gave you FalloutPrefs.ini becuse that's where data for keybinds is stored which is the only thing that changed, once again I never edited these files by hand, I assumed that you would need it to do something with it?

what are you doing there? you can't / can not rename the default file and use IT as a prefs file.

Oh gosh i would never rename an ini file for a game that's like shooting yourself in the face.

you sent me a fallout3.ini file it's not a pref's file

Binary verified

You want my Fallout3.ini?

Here is ordered list of what I did last night

  1. Un-Installed Fallout 3 with Revo Uninstaller Pro (Free Trial)
  2. Install Fallout 3 Again
  3. Activated the DLC and made the load order correct
  4. Played the game and did not experience crash on entering atrium
  5. Quit the game (was going to post here but decide i should test it to end of valt)
  6. Re-bound keys with ingame settings
  7. Crashed when I entered atrium
  8. Deleted FalloutPrefs.ini (this holds data for keybinds) so the game would build a new vanila file
  9. Played the game again, no crash in atrium
  10. Without quitting the game re-bound keys with ingame settings menu
  11. Loaded save again (without quitting)
  12. Crashed when I entered atrium

I have no idea what's going on there, I have never head of such weird things before unless your editing the wrong things, or some other thing is happening. Engine? Regional? language. Mine here is default, it's 3 k in size. Not 22 kb's
