SkyUI hotkey failure

I've tried to used the the grouping function so I can change my weapons/armor/etc quickly when needed. However, i have 4 groups created and have SkyUI all set up according to the directions I've been able to find. However, when I hit any of the keys F1-F4, literally nothing happens. I tried using the 5th slot to assign to a regular key (in this case "Y") but still nothing.

 

Anyone have any hints on what I may be doing wrong or of anything that may conflict with them? As far as I know, I have no other hotkey mods installed.

Even when you get it to work, it usually unequips my body armor when I use it, despite it being in the group.

And yes, I have tried changing that setting, it does nothing.

 

You're going into the "Q" menu, right? Then if I remember right, you need to assign the F keys too.

Yes, I used the 'Q' menu to create the groups and set up the Function Keys in SkyUI. Am I missing any steps?

Check your controls > keyboard settings to make sure nothing is designated F1-4. That's all I can think of, other than making sure SkyUI is the latest ver.

Check your group assignment keys

Hey I just read something that might be pertinent:

"Menu based hotkeys may not work with mods beyond the 127th mod slot."

But if you are putting SkyUI that far down the mod order, you have other issues too. FYI.
