scot
So I started steam today so I could play skyrim, once it shows the menu saying play game, options, data files, technical support I click play game and then it goes right to the same menu and I click play game and it doesn´t start  Anyone knows how to fix this? EDIT:Ok so I found my backup exe and paste it again in skyrim folder and steam manage to start my game again, removing TESV.exe messes with the launch menu making the play option useless -.- Anyone else having this problem? scot
Thank you :) luckily I had a TESV back up so I´m using that for now, I waswonder if it was just me but if it happens to everybody it´s no doubt something steam will fix.I like t have everything right and working, I´m not comfortable having the game not start even though I have the back up.We paid for the game and we should have the game working 100% with no problems rather than being treated like we stole it. adz11
The same issue has happened to me. I brought the game retail have no mods/hacks anythings! was playing it last night. Start it this morning and steam has a one second flash of an auto update and now my beloved game wont launch! grrrrr i have sent emails to steam tech support i thought it may just be me cause i have searched the net for similar happenings, I joined this forum because of what you posted. I am relieved at least im not the only one but i would've thought with the scope of the game and it being relativity new that there would be outrage all over the net. This is the first ive seen with the exact same issue as me. Well if its a big enough problem if they smart they will be working like sweating pit slaves to be fixing it asap or Bethesda will slap there ass hard as will the mighty collective consumer. My advice everyone who has had this problem since the update spam their tech support so they get the scope of this mess up. We paid good money to play this game and are being deprived already....not acceptable fits this very well.
FryingNemo
Found my own fix. Loaded steam, went to game library, right click on skyrim, properties, local game files, validated game file for skyrim. I no longer have the shakes of withdrawal. adz11
you sir are a god among men. In honor of your deeds and name they must make a standing stone under your name and activating it shall dispell poisons diseases all debuffs, make you invincible, learn skills 20 times faster and give you 1000000 gold and restore everything like you have restored my mind. Steam should still be held accountable for the lost time and mental and emotional anguish it has caused. You should be exalted as a savior
