eyk003
A quick question to the community, I know that as of now, people are modding basic features of the game through TESedit and FO/SMM. If I am interested in creating mods for Skyrim (which I am), is it worth investing my time in learning the finer details of TESedit and FO/SMM, or will my knowledge of these programs become largely redundant when the Creation Kit is released? Thanks in advance, -eyk
kuro1n
I think many are new to modding TES games and would like to know this, myself included. : )
Dan3345
No, if you want to mod well, or get many very large and or advanced mods to be as compatible as possible without direct patches from the authors, you will need to know how these works, and have a fairly deep understanding of how the game works as a whole. But its not too hard to learn and a while back a user on this nexus by the name of gopher created some very easy to understand video tutorials on how these things are done. So while not being essential they are and will be very important. And the CS will never make them redundant. They do completely different things, and always will.
