Wearable ponytail

A ponytail or braid that can be equipped/unequipped and uses one of the generally un-used "head" slots (nose ring, glasses, etc).... has anyone made such a thing?

I don't know of any off hand but if your still interested in teh concept and your search hasn't provided any viable results I can look into making one for you. Because hair uses alpha planes and it's placement/location can be a bit "fuzzy" it shouldn't be hard to whip one up.

If you could, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sure, no problem. So what I would need for you to do is to choose a hair style from the barber menu that has the ponytail you want. You can also choose one from a mod if iti has open permissions. You should also choose a color, as I can't guarantee the hair shader will work on a armor addon (it might, it might not, I'v never tried it in this context).

You can use a pic or the hairstyle name, anything that would identify the style for me in the geck.

I'll probably make one of those stupid baseball caps with a built in pony tail as well, for a misc wasteland swag item.

This one has open permissions down the bottom (but you may want to double check it before you use it cos I just took a quick glance):

Yeah, looks like a great candidate Flamenx01, thanks brother.

Skyoholic001 if you have a problem with that mod let me know, otherwise I'll probably be using it as a base when I start work on the ponytail this weekend.

I'm just a bit confused by the author giving open permission yet at the same time stating the models aren't his... but as long as you don't have an issue with it, I don't either.

Essentially what I'm after is a ponytail that can be attached/worn at the end of the vanilla game's "short mohawk" hair style, basically giving the character a "mohawk mullet" that they keep tied back in a tail.

I have no idea how much work will be involved or if what I'm wanting is even possible but...

Yeah, I didn't pay much attention to the description. I guess you should keep looking and see if there is a less problematic alternative mod to use. On my end I'll try to clarify the permissions by speaking to the mod's author and the model's original author, but so many peeps have left the scene that we should consider it unlikely we will get a response.

I haven't worked with hair much (at all?), but I think it should be standard procedure, with the hair shader being the only real difference (and I don't see why it wouldn't work on anything as long as the flag is there). Plus as long as it has a egm associated with it, it should fit any noggin size.

keep me updated and let me know about anything you find and I'll do the same if I have anything to report about permissions. In the mean time I may do a test mesh using a scaled up version of the fairy tails/pig tails to get started.

The fairy/pig tails would actually work just fine for my purposes... if it's possible to isolate one of them, separate it from the rest of the mesh, and re-position it to the base of the skull. I've never had much luck with Blender and the like so as I said, I don't know if that is even possible. I don't see why it wouldn't be (or how much work it would involve) but...

A rough idea of what I'm talking about....
