Mods slowing down saving

For my settlements I use the place anywhere mod because Bethesda produced a crappy building system. The mod is great but whenever I'm in settlements that I've used a place anywhere feature on (surface snap off for example) my saving, autosave and quicksave becomes much slower, it will freeze for 5 seconds sometimes, sometimes 20 and when I sleep in a bed it can take 40 seconds! I'm just wondering if anybody else has come across this and if there are ways to speed up my saving or if I'll just have to put up with it if I want to keep the mod.
