Hi guys. First post here and unfortunately its a cry for help :(

Been playing skyrim since launch and its been great running with no problems. Ive installed a couple of mods which are the following

FXAA Post Process Injector

Enhanced Blood Textures

Now today i opened up skyrim and a dialog box appeared saying it couldnt find skyrim......... OK no problem i thought. I will just browse for skyrim.exe in the steam folder. found it.... Clicked ok and went to run skyrim. only this time when try to run skyrim i get a user account control box appear asking.......

Do i want the following program to make changes to this computer.

Program name skyrim launcher

verified publisher Bestesda softworks

FIle origin Hard drive on this computer

When the above messege appeared i thought it was just confirming to overwrite the skyrim.exe.... But now every icon ( and i mean every icon ) on my computer from the program list to the desktop has the skyrim logo. and you guessed it every icon opens up skyrim. only skyrim still doesnt run. just keeps displaying the above messege. Ive managed to dig into my C drive and open up paint from there to show you all some screen shots.

I think that horrid patch has struck again, but I have no idea how it did that to your other icons. I think I would uninstall and then reinstall. Also check out the numerous threads here and on the official forums about how to offline Steam and prevent it from trashing (ie force updating) your game again.

I also find that there are less issues if you move your Steam directory totally out of Program Files, here's how Steam advise you to do it;-

Moving a Steam installation and games

If you have a 64 bit OS it will actually be in C:\ProgramFiles )x86).

I have, for example, C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Skyrim

thanks ginnyfizz

I'll look into moving steam. and also how to offline steam. hmmm you talking about auto updates just reminded me of another mod i installed. cant remember what it was called though but it increased the amount of ram skyrim could use from 2gb upwards. I remember reading about that this would need to be unstalled for furture updates...
