nsilva
Had pretty much all of the top Skyrim mods installed. Everything worked fine until yesterday. I fast travelled to whiterun and a good majority of the textures were now just showing the bump maps as the textures, and then it crashed. Now any time I try to fast travel to whiterun the game crashes, or if I look at Whiterun from the world the game crashes. What could cause everything to work fine one day and be broken the next, with no changes made in the duration from working to not.
MShoap13
Have you made changes in your .ini regarding ugridstoload or the map menu? It so, try disabling them one setting at a time and see if one of them is responsible. ugridstoload is tricky by the way. If you've increased it's value beyond the default you have to use the console to alter your .ini ingame or your save will become unloadable. 1)Open your save.2)Hit the tilde key to open the console.3)type: "setini "ugridstoload:general" 5""saveini""refreshini" 4)Close the console by hitting tilde again.5)Make a new save and exit/restart Skyrim. nsilva
I have not changed anything. Just added mods to the skyrim directory.
MShoap13
It's possible the textures are too large for Skyrim to handle them. The Gamebryo engine was always erratic with how it handled memory, and the Creation engine is little more than Gamebryo 2.0. Try installing a smaller map size version of the mod if there's one available. If not, try uninstalling the mod all together and see if that fixes your issue. If it does be sure to inform the author of the mod that you had this issue.
