Dicetrain
If you can purchase it, that means there is a code to trigger it. There has to be some way to mod that trigger to flip or a console command or something. If it can't be found, couldn't someone with the skills just copy/paste the clean furnished house to mod into a game that has the bloody one? I can't believe Bethesda put this down at the bottom of the scrolling list of upgrades if it could be invalidated by getting the other ones first. I even played over all the missions to get the house over again thinking that maybe if I solved the case before buying then it would be clean. Now I found out that there was a cleaning option, yet I'm several hours of gameplay past that point so I'm not going back.

Gammelkebab
PUSH!I think that house is the best one and i cheated the f***in buggy quest "blood on the ice" away but still its annoying to have all those bones and the table in the alchemy/enchanting room.Maybe just make a mod which removes the differences. SkjoldBjorn
im working on a mod atm that should fix it, not fix the bugged dialogue, but fix up the mess. You can try to use "markfordelete" in the console to manually remove most of it, but quicksave first, just incase you target a floor tile instead etc :Sthe blood on the floor can be removed if you do a disable/enable on the floortiles that have blood on em. Toutatis
im working on a mod atm that should fix it, not fix the bugged dialogue, but fix up the mess. You can try to use "markfordelete" in the console to manually remove most of it, but quicksave first, just incase you target a floor tile instead etc :Sthe blood on the floor can be removed if you do a disable/enable on the floortiles that have blood on em.Using the markfordelete command is a pain in the lower back side. To remove the mess easily, just type df492.disable in the console. For a temporary fix for those who purchased the house via console, here is a copy of my post on the official forums (there's more to remove than just the bloody mess): While we await for the real patch (or at least the CS), I thought I'd post this little tip here for those who, like me, had to use cheats to purchase the house in Windhelm as Jorleif wouldn't sell it and the Blood on the Ice quest wouldn't trigger (after checking with skyrim viewer, the quest seems to contain several events that can prevent it from triggering). I noticed that the recommended way to delete the cobwebs and the old funiture is to use the "Markfordelete function. This requires lots of patience and trial and error. Instead, it's much easier, less time consuming and safer to simply delete the parentref of the said objects: open the console and type "df495.disable" (without quotes). The house also looks much cleaner than with the markanddelete function as it also gets rid of the mist and some other effects. The above is applicable after purchasing the house via cheats - console commands: "setstage a7b33 10" "completequest ms11" "completequest ms11b"and then purchasing the upgrades from jorleif (make sure you purchase the "clean the mess" upgrade before all the others). If you didn't purchase the "cleaning" upgrade first: type "df492.disable" : this will get rid of the bloody mess. (the getparentref console command can be priceless to find the parent object controlling the status of the children objects ;) ) To remove the "Investigation targets": Near the bloody chest: d55f2.disableNear bottles and broken glass: d5625.disableNear the pots in the kitchen: d5662.disableNear the altar with skeleton: d57f6.disableFront of wardrobe with hidden door: d57ef.disableIn the upstairs bedroom: d57f7.disableNear the small bookcase with the butcher leaflets: d572c.disableNear the other wardrobe and the small bookcase: d57c7.disable Also, I noticed that the dialog with Jorleif to add furniture to the small room which is almost in front of the master bedroom in the Windhelm house was also not showing up in my game. If you have the same problem, open the console and type: df496.enabledf497.enable Edit: apparently getting the housecarl fixes this last issue with the "guestroom" but I'm leaving the codes just in case.. SkjoldBjorn
Not all items can be disabled, some must be deleted with the command markfordelete, so pain in the backside or not, it's a must when using console to edit your home in many cases. Toutatis
Not all items can be disabled, some must be deleted with the command markfordelete, so pain in the backside or not, it's a must when using console to edit your home in many cases.Did you read my post? The reason why some items can't be deleted is that they have a parent item controlling them: disable the parent item and you delete all the children (in some cases an item can have a script attached to it but that is not the case here: the principle is the same as the house furniture in Oblivion and Fallout - it's a group thing). All the codes are in my post. There is no need to use the markfordelete command in this case (there are also several refs that you can't delete with this command unless you know the exact id as things like the mist in the house are not selectable with the mouse). The markfordelete is good if you want to delete only one child item and not the others but for fixing this house it's pointless.
SkjoldBjorn
Yes i read your post, but i do not feel comfortable by removing a parent as it can have unknown side-effects and i have never had any problems using markfordelete on any items and some of those items had a parent, like the Alchemy shelf inside the "hidden" room, a child linked to parent ref:df491. I have also deleted mists, lights etc with markfordelete, it's just about finding the right refid, then use the command "prid refid" and markfordelete. I deleted a lot of lights inside my version of hjerim this way, you just need to be careful when you pick the id, thats all. However your methood is probably better in this case, but im still not comfortable removing parents in general, although this may be an exception since they are only linked to the murder quest.
