Skyrim freezes immediately after the load screen

I have a lot of mods 50+ and I use mod organizer to run them. I have never had a problem until recently. My problems began when my game crashed. I thought nothing of if so I just re-ran skyrim, but whenever I do the game will load up normally, but directly after the loading screen, right as I can see riverwood begin to appear my game freezes. Usually when I load my game I get a few text screens that come with some of the mods I installed that inform me on what that specific mod does, but I usually just click past those and am able to play regularly. Since this problem though I can see them but my screen freezes up and I can't do anything about it. Are there any mods that are known to cause these problems? I am currently using the latest versions of skyrim, skse, and windows 10.

Hello,

• Don't uninstall mods at mid-game, there are no clean save in Skyrim but using save script cleaner can help removing orphan scripts and load your messed savegame. It may be necessary to reload and test some previous saves, while using the savegame scripts cleaner.
• Verify gamecache.
• CTD loading an existing save.
• Skyrim doesn't start.
• Make sure you're using the good mods >> Dangerous mods list.
• Ensure the mod combination you're using have the required patches and that your mods are correctly installed following the author recommandations. See each mod's page.
• CTDs troubleshooting page on Reddit for your other CTDs, depending on what's happening in game, choose the subsections that describes the best your problem.

 

Here is a list of things that may help stabilizing your game :

/// Load order / mods conflicts :

• Use L.O.O.T once and click on the "sort plugins buttons".
• Create a wryebash patch including leveled lists.
• Create a merged patch with Tesedit excluding leveled lists

/// Cleaning and correcting potential bugs :

• Clean your master files to eliminate potential problems : Gopher's videos cleaning your masterfiles on the Nexus Tesedit page.
  Start Tes5edit, simply untick everything, (right-click/select none) and add only a tick to the esm/esp you want to check + update.esm, Tesedit knows what to do and will load all the dependencies automatically.
  - Begin with loading only Skyrim + update, ITM / UDR + save ctrl +s and close.
  - Then load Skyrim + update + Dawnguard, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
  - Then load Skyrim + update + Hearthfire, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
  - Then load Skyrim + update + Dragonborn, ITM / UDR + ctrl +s and close.
• The method above can be used to clean mods. LOOT should tell you which plugin you should clean. You may also do a check errors on your plugins.

/// Settings / memory :

• Have you installed the skse patch ? >> memory blocks log.
• Backup your ini files and delete the files. Skyrim.ini / SkyrimCustom.ini / SkyrimPrefs.ini found in C:\Users\Utilisateur\Documents\My Games\Skyrim then use your vanilla launcher to autodetect and use best settings for your computer.

• Read here, this is potentially a cause of CTD that you can resolve by following the mod procedure on this page.

• Install the latest USLEEP > v 3.0.4 now and uninstall your obsolete unofficial patches if any.
• STEP troubleshooting page.
• Ensure your skyrim installation is healthy = Make skyrim vanilla again.

Thanks, I will be sure to do that. So I don't run into these problems again, but I did get it working, the problem was my last four saves were somehow corrupted, because I loaded up a way earlier save and was able to get everything I had gotten in the four corrupted saves back with console commands.

<the problem was my last four saves were somehow corrupted> It can be a load order issue, make sure to check the /// Load order / mods conflicts above. This link shows you a way to go further using Tes5edit and making manual patches, probably more efficient than merged patch as I'm almosr certain it doesn't cover the conflicts so accurately. You may try the merged patch, exclude the leveled item, (remove them if any) and use the manual method to correct files, (this will need a lot of time to cover your plugins) then you may do a bashed patch to manage leveled items.

I just had this exact same problem for the past couple days. Strange that it happened for both of us right around the same time. I just loaded a past save point and it seems to be working for now...

My game opened until i used loot. it at least showed me the characters loaded, it could walk run do whatever i wanted. but if i used "Tab" and clicked in either of the menu, it crashed. NOW AFTER USING LOOT, I dont get past the loading screen :/
