Simple life mod

A couple of months ago I thought of a game that was well ahead of today's technology, but hey why not suggest a mod for Skyrim that is pretty close. Anyways, my idea was for a mod to let you choose an option during character creation or something similar to not be dragon born. What this will open up is the possibility to do things like buy a farm and hire some people to work the farm for you while you are away traveling or just to help you with the harvest. Another thing you could do is to buy a house that has a forge and all the goodies included (smelter, grindstone, etc.).

You could arrange for ores to be dropped off at a chest by the forge and the cost deducted from the gold you put in the chest. Of course you could always become an apprentice to an existing blacksmith, if they will have you, and learn to smith better quality items. (There was someone who suggested being able to smith unique weapons with gems inlaid in the weapons or a jagged edge and such, this would fit perfectly). Also, have it so suitable npcs (mercenaries, guards, the Jarl, etc.) come and ask to buy a weapon/piece of armor that is in your chest by your forge. Instead of smelting ores and forging them into worthy weapons and armor, maybe you want to just mine ores for some overseer who pays you per ore.(I know you can already do that, but add the ability for you to keep mining similar to the npcs who mine infinitely.) Just so you can't abuse this make it so the overseer talks to you when you try to leave the said mine and makes you sell the ore no matter what. Alternatively you could try to save up and buy a mine, and make a profit by selling the ores your workers mine.(though the amount per day should be randomized within reason, and you should have a storage limit so you can't just leave for month, come back and make 50k or more then leave again.

If you lean towards enchanting and alchemy, take the same general idea of the blacksmith but replace it with the appropriate materials. Alchemy-plants, animal parts, etc. Enchanting-soul gems, weapons, the enchantments themselves. Have some npcs ask for special items like a specific type of weapon with a certain enchantment, or a specific poison or potion. You could also hire some mercenaries to go gather the supplies you need.(give them soul gems to go kill monsters for their souls, or go gather hard to get ingredients for alchemy.)

Or if none of these options sound too interesting or you just crave for some delicious battle, you could try to form/join a bandit group who roams around attacking patrolling guards and non quest npcs. If you are a little more noble than that maybe you can join a mercenary group that hunts bandits, Forsworn, and other less desirable creatures. Maybe you could be a freelancer and gather materials for the enchanter/alchemist/smith.

Any other ideas are duly appreciated. Any modders who can do this and would consider this I would severely appreciate your time for reading this(I would do this but the most experience I have with mods is downloading them and playing them.) Lastly I thank anyone who bothers to read and leave a comment.

Exactly, and if a house was burned down due to some other bandits, you could be hired by the Jarl to help rebuild the house. For example cutting wood and bringing iron ore or iron ingots to the person overseeing the rebuilding of the said house.

I am currently playing an Orc for my second play through and I found the strongholds lacking so much in the way of interaction. I could only imagine the possibilities of interaction you could have with an orc stronghold with this mod idea. Now if only some modders would read this, if they haven't already, and mull it over.

Yeah, I did a quest and this orc guy was gonna send word to the strongholds. I went there and damn it was so dull.

Perhaps the Khajiit caravans could have some interactions too.

I think most ppl can agree that there needs to be increased interactions in Skyrim. There's just too much potential to pass up. Caravans, traveling merchants, farmers making their rounds to town to sell their produce, etc etc. There needs to be more "outside stuff" moving into towns and out. Bandit/Draugr raids and stuff so we can protect our hometowns too from time to time.

The simple life of a blacksmith. Who is forced to use that sword to help protect his wife and home. When the threat is neutralized, it's to the taverns for a drink, and back to the daily grind. Business as usual in Skyrim.

Yes always being thrust into the shoes of the hero gets boring after awhile and the simple life of a farmer just seems more appealing.

It's as they say, "Those who live the simple life yearn for adventure while heroes just want to take it easy."
