CookieDischarge
So when having a go at Vault-Tec Workshop, I went through all the experiments. Sure that was fun, but I got disappointed by the lack of f***ed-up experiments. You know, like something FEV-related or radiation-related. Anyway, moving on to the actual request. You probably know about the Institute's abandoned FEV lab, as it plays a role in curing Virgil. If not, then I'm sorry if I spoiled something for you.So I think if, after finishing Institutionalized, we unlocked settlement building parts to allow players to make experiments like that, it would not be lore-unfriendly at all. They could even be Institute-themed, so we could have some tubes where we could place settlers in, and either they would be turned into 'friendly' Super Mutants that we could use as we use any settler, or there could be a failure of some sort and the settlers would die. We could even control it through a terminal to specify the type of mutant (Overlord, Butcher, etc.). This could be used to change their stats. If you don't know what the tubes look like, here's a reference picture:http://i.imgur.com/t4re9GK.jpg And to go along these ^^ we could have anti-FEV treatments that would revert a Super Mutant back to human, as long as it was a mutant "created" by the player. These could be done with either variations of the tubes mentioned above or the rooms mentioned in the idea below. Another thing we could have is a room, maybe the size of a concrete foundation, a prefab with all four walls, floor and ceiling and a terminal-lockable door, that would be controlled by a terminal to allow to dispense radiation to turn settlers (according to possibly random chance) to friendly "preserved" ghouls, or into Feral Ghouls. So, after all that rant, is anyone up to the challenge?

CookieDischarge
Can I just possibly break a few set of rules and bump the thread? :p
Taknor
I had a thought on this idea when I saw it. What if you just used the existing syringer ammo to replicate these effects. Shoot a human with a beserk syringe for example pumps the target with the FEV and they become super mutants. Or hit a super mutant with the same syringe and he becomes a behemoth. In either instance they immediately aggro to everyone around them. Alternately the pacifist syringe "cures" a super mutant/ghoul condition and they become human and are instantly aggro'd by everything around them.
