Bethesda f***ed up the Shouts

It's odd that this thread is the place where forums finally decide that opinions do not count as a valid argument.

To an extent I tend to agree that "Fuuuus... rodah!" is less cool than "Fus! Roh! Dah!" I see why they did it that way but if I had my choice, I wouldn't have chosen the way it is now.

I don't care how they sound for now I am just disappointed at how useless most of them are.

Unrelenting force, is kinda lame just because it is basically a jedi push only from the mouth, lol. But in its defense it is one of the better shouts.

Fire Breath, Has more of an AOE than something like a fire ball, but I feel I get more dam' in the long run from multiple ire balls shots.

Ice Form, I actually really like this one-shout it on a marauder and you can retreat a bit to finish him with ranged combat(if Archer/Mage)

Slow Time, not long enough it is just an escape shout for me.

I like the other two I have- the one that gives you a swift weapon and the one that makes you invincible are good shouts.

Though I agree with the poster-they do sound kind of weak and muttered.

Well, they don't, and never did. People that think just because they can form their own opinion and can therefor never be wrong are pretty ignorant (contradictory? I think so!).

Of course, there are exceptions, but these go both ways. Just because you hate women and think they are inferior doesn't mean you should be allowed to beat one, and that "argument" (read: Opinion) would never hold up in court, as well as your opinion that Hockey is better than Baseball could never really be proven, thus remains an opinion, one that you can profess all day that you have, but can never really win an argument over.

Basically, if you are arguing with someone over something silly (like this), one of three things is happening; you either have an opinion and are arguing against fact or accepted fact, you both have an opinion and are trying to make the other person take your side, or you both see separate parts of the whole and both think your part is the only way to go. In either scenarios, you are only ever going to win if your so called opinion is backed up with facts (not more opinions of which you think should be fact), or you understand both aspects of the argument fully... effectively making your opinion a credible argument, turning it into a fact or truth. It is credible because of the things that you have to back it up, not because it is YOUR opinion... essentially, your opinion really means nothing without these things. Basically, opinions are nothing without facts, and an opinion backed up with facts is no longer an opinion, but your acceptance of said facts. But this can be broken into semantics, of which I'm sure will happen.

Here is an example:

Let's say there is a super gigantic ball hanging in the sky, and we only see one part of it because it is so big. All we see is the red part, and all other people see is the blue part. Now it is a factual opinion that this ball is red. But it is not "THE" fact. THE FACT is that it is a multi-colored ball.

While your opinion that the ball is red is true (factual opinion), it is one that would never be accepted against those who only see a different color (different opinion), or those that know it is a multi-colored ball (fact).

TL;DR version - Opinions are nothing without the facts, using and accepting the facts in an argument no longer makes it your opinion, winning an argument against fact with opinion is impossible, winning an argument against opinion with fact doubly so.

Fact: It is way too late.

Opinion: I still think Shouts are cool.

Factual Opinion: This thread, and this post, is pointless.

Fact: Everyone has an opinion.

Opinion: Not everyone should voice their opinion.

Factual Opinion: Some opinions are better than others.

And with that, I bid you farewellt. kbai

:hurr:
