All this talk of making Skyrim look more realistic...

...and not one thread has the decency to propose a completely different type of texture project?

And it shall be called; The Retro Project! Now hiring! No pay, but plenty of gratification from a job well done.

Ahem...anyway, anyone interested in helping out? Its surprisingly simple, but theirs a sh-- ton of textures.

It's been done. Here: link

:P

If you're still concerned with doing this, why not go whole-hog and re-create the game using Daggerfall or Morrowind resources? I'm sure it'd be easier than making everything yourself, plus you wouldn't have the weirdness from low quality textures on high quality meshes.

The wierdness of stepping into an 8/16/32 bit 2D abomination of the natural order is exactly what I am going for. Case in point:

I am not trying to create a brand new world out of Skyrim. I just want to make it LOOK like one. Been wanting to do this since Oblivion, I just did not have the time or motivation. Now I do.

P.s: Gettin real good at this Texture making...

Sounds interesting. (Heh, Sounds)

Looking for anything below the year 2000, though Game Boy Advance is welcome too. 2D DS graphics reccomendations are welcome too.

I am basically going for a "HORY SHET! I remember that sprite/soundtrack" type of vibe.
