LOD

Is LOD necessary with mods if you are using existing world space? I ask, because I notice that I can't see my mod if I am looking at the area from a distance but it comes into view once I'm closer. I've read that LOD should only be used for worldspaces that have been added to the game, and not existing world spaces.

Honestly, haven't found much info on the topic.

Your stuff popping in when you get closer is normal if you have added anything to an existing worldspace. Reason being is that only objects that were present during LOD generation for a specific area, will be the only LOD objects that will be rendered. However it is possible to generate LOD for specific areas of a worldspace. I have done this before with some success. Although there are a few work arounds so you do not have to generate LODs but they don't always work. Such as making duplicates of the structures you have used, giving them a new name, and marking them as "never fades" and substituting your originals with the copies.

I posted these instructions on TES Alliance. If you are interested. There are many areas of Tamriel that people have edited and not generated LODs for and things are just fine. It all depends on from where you approach them.

You can also find the vanilla source files for generation Here
