tobunshi
Hey everyone. I experience lag with some lighting effects, such as the "eyes adjusting" effect seen when looking at something bright and then something darker, and the effect that changes lighting briefly from using the fire breath shout. Is there a way to turn this off?
tobunshi
bump :( If possible, I'd also like to know how to change my sound format to 44.1Khz 16-bit in Windows XP. When I disabled my audio after reading that sound could cause lag, I found myself with no lag.
Jobus0
I think that "eyes adjusting" effect you're talking about is HDR.So try going into C:\Users\*USERNAME*\Documents\My Games\Skyrim and open SkyrimPrefs.ini and then find and change bDoHighDynamicRange=1 to bDoHighDynamicRange=0. And about the audio, in Windows, right click the Volume icon next to Windows's clock, and pick Playback Devices. Then select the Playback device that says "Default Device" and press Properties.Select the Advanced tab, and there you will find "Default Format" with a drop-down list to change your audio's Hz with. EDIT: Okay, I tried disabling that "bDoHighDynamicRange", and it didn't make any change. Or atleast it didn't change the eye adjustment thing. Thanks for replying! There's no "Playback devices" option when I right-click, only "Open Volume Control" and Adjust Audio Properties. When I go to the properties for my sound card in Device Manager, the "Settings" button is greyed out. I've updated my sound drivers, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I don't think I need a fix for the eye adjustment thing anymore (now that I know it's actually the sound), though it'd be nice.
