armor modding question

I would like to know how to make the daedric armor look like the ebony armor. Could someone just explain how to swap the textures? Thanks

Well you could just swap textures by copying the ebony armor's .DDS files and renaming them to whatever name is given to the texture files for daedric armor but more then likely the outcome will be of very poor quality, I.E. stretching, seams and bare / transparant patches. No if you want to do it good you have to take the time to retexture the armor in a texture program like gimp or photoshop.

I tried renaming the files and it didn't change a thing. I think i didn't express myself clear, all i want is the ebony armor to be the daedric and vice versa, not to apply the textures of the ebony to the daedric. Sorry Edited by alex2399

Just swapping the texture would NOT work. The UVW set is different per model.

And for your question: Perhas wait a few days for the CK? Then it should be a simple click or two. As of now, I do not know.

u could just extract the meshes.bsa , put the extracted meshes folder in ur skyrim/data folder, navigate to data/meshes/armor/ebony, open another windows explorer and navigate to data/meshes/armor/daedric (not sure if the daedric folder is named that), compare the files in the 2 folders, copy the files from the ebony folder somewhere, rename and paste it over the daedric stuff.

I know this works caz ive done it for quite a few of the armors.

Why not just increase the armor value of Ebony to match Daedric? Though even that isn't really necessary. If you've got enough armor rating (567 displayed) then you're at the max damage reduction anyways, and increasing it further doesn't do anything. You can reach those levels of protection with plate armor if you're a good enough smith.
