Skyrim Multiplayer / Co-op?

No offense to the folks above, but Skyrim multiplayer mods are sort of... nuts.

I've liked the idea, but it's got a lot of problems.

1) It's not practical. The best mods I've seen for multiplayer in Oblivion required the sharing of a keyboard.

2) The engine might be heavily taxed from loading different areas at once.

3) If made in the practical manner, you have to do plenty of coding and probably be more than good at it.

I just don't see a version I like happening, but that doesn't mean I would care if anyone was willing to throw away some time trying to do so.

I would be happy with a mod than enabled me to play with one other person.

Heck I would drop real life dollars on such a mod if such a mod existed. My spouse and I love these games and the only lament is we cannot play together. We could care less about a MMO type environ, just the two of us.

And I agree.

Anyways, how does savefiles work etc, Do both player have to start a new save, or import an existing one?

All you have to do is just save. Player 2 will always be with you (unless you disable him) so there is no problem-o.

I find it funny when people claim it doesnt work or the engine doesnt support it etc, yet they have NO CLUE whatsoever they just repeat what they've read by other most likely clueless people. Obviously it IS possible, its just very hard and even harder to get going good.

And yea having a lan mod would be good enough and enjoyable, i mean 2 people, 1 person takes the role of the companion for example and the first person got control over the normal character + equipment and all that stuff. Companion person cant interact with the world in other ways than doing damage heal etc for example.

I've allways wanted to play multiplayer since Oblivion and hoped the next gen TES would eventually have it, but to no avail!

It will be epic if properly implemented and the biggest problem would be to limit cheats etc in order to provide equal pvp chances and vs pve

I challenge you to explain a practical approach for integrating a remotely controlled compaion online, having the two clients to render the same world and actors and each one playing as the pc in their client. Having previously worked with OB and FO3 engine and programmed some online applications, I see no serious way to achieve this. But if you have the knowledge, I'd love you to share some concepts with us.
