SkyrimeisterSam
This is so simple I honestly don't know why it wasn't added. Armour degrades during combat, and like Oblivion when it hits 0 it's considered broke and you can't wear it. To fix it, you visit a workbench where a "Repair" sub-menu comes up. It then lists all the items that have been used and abused. Depending on the damage done, it requires the primary metal it was made out of to repair. For example, if a steel platebody was smashed and was at 20% health, it would require 4 steel ingots to bring it back up to 100%. If it was at 40%, it would require 3 and so on. There could also be perks to aid in this, such as requiring a perk to repair magic items, much like in Oblivion. "Resourceful repairman", where the repair rate from a single ingot is doubled. For example, with this perk you would only need 1 steel ingot to bring the platebody from 0% to 40%, a perk that allows you to repair items to 125% and at 100 Smithing, a perk that allows you to repair items without the need for any ingots.
