juniorsky259
so I am currently trying to retexture the vault entrance or at least get rid of the pesky "Welcome to Vault 111" decal and replace it. I know I am supposed to use B.A.E (Bethesda archive extractor) but for some reason I cannot as I need VC++ but when ever I download the program I get an error. It always comes up with an error saying I need to repair and restart. it doesn't matter however if I do this because it keeps repeating. can someone help me fix it pls? or is there a way someone can do it for me and send it to me? I would prefer to fix it tho since I have plans for it later on to make custom PA. I uploaded a picture of the error if it helps.
radiumskull
Not sure why it says 'rollback of the software', but it's not like these things are really aware of what's going on. I would go into the Windows control panels and uninstall MS Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable. Then restart. Then try to reinstall it. Then restart again. Then try using BAE. juniorsky259
Yea I've done that and it still gives me the same problem. I've had this problem for awhile now and can't seem to find a way to fix it.
garompaestomper
I'm assuming you have windows 8.1Take a look at your problem in google. What I found is that this is a rare bug in windows, not being able to install visual c++. People say they have fixed it by running the web installer and not and iso...i don't know. try installing and running everything as admin. My other recommendation is if you have another pc install f4 there and use it to extract the textures with BAE. Although that is quite annoying. If nothing works, try reinstalling windows. and if it doesnt work, upgrade to W10, as i said some people say its a bug in windows 8.
