Question about Enchanted weapons

perhaps a very stupid question.

 

if i equip Lydia with an enchanted weapon, will the weapon drain? will it drain at a normal rate?

Do companions benefits from enchanted armors?

 

reason i ask is... it all seems kinda static. Like they do not benefit at all from any superior gear.

maybe its just me. anyone have any advice or any significant experiences worth sharing?

Lydia can and will use enchanted weapons and enchanted armors.

 

Yes the weapons will drain with every use so you will have to top up the enchantments with soul stones every so often. (This is a great way to level up enchanting. Use petty stones to level up fastest)

 

However Lydia suffers from a bug that prevents her from leveling with you. Her level will be stuck at whatever level you were when you first entered Whiterun.

 

To fix first you have to dismiss her. Then before she walks away press ~ to bring up the console (I'm assuming you're on a pc) and click on her to bring up her id.

 

Then enter disable.

Then enter enable.

press ~ to exit the console and Lydia will have leveled to match you.

 

Talk to her to get her to follow you again.

 

You'll have to do this everytime you level up.
