Darksun45230
Unarmed damage should be viable for endgame. According to the post: http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1275179-2419-armor-6399-damage-using-smithing-alchemy-enchanting-only-33-perks-329k-backstabs/page__st__80 Unarmed damage caps very early on. From my point of view this appears to be the developers attempting to steer the player towards their three weapon tiers, swords, axes, maces. Using your fists was never intended to be a means to an end but rather a crutch for players early on. What's wrong with this? Everything. The player should be allowed to adopt any playstyle and be able to make it viable. This isn't about min/maxing either. This is about putting Unarmed combat back where it belongs. Unarmed/Unarmored combat should have their own tree. Traditionally, Monk type characters forsake the cumbersome weight of heavy armors for loose-fitting clothing for maximum mobility. Currently, clothing in Skyrim is limited to Alteration Flesh spells, mostly benefiting the magically inclined due to the stats found in robes. I propose that both Unarmed and Unarmored perks should be combined into the same tree. These perks should offer less offense and more in disabling/disarming the enemy. In Morrowind, Hand-to-Hand combat didn't effect health until the enemy (or player) ran out of stamina. I think what they did with Unarmed combat in Skyrim was novel, but took away it's best characteristics. Which is why I propose Perks reviving the idea of disarming one's enemy. This could be brought by adding impact to power attacks, disarming, or even paralysis. Should Unarmored/Unarmed acquire it's own Perk tree, they're going to require clothing. As of now, there are only a handful of pieces currently available to the player and Lore-wise has generally been treated as a status symbol (wealthy = fancy, poor = plain.) If we were to change this, how would they appear? Would we create clothing based on previous Elder Scrolls game models (IE: Prisoner's clothing?) Or would we break Lore in loo of something Eastern like Shaolin garb? http://superiormartialarts.com/images19/ShaolinMonk%5B1%5D.jpg Also, what Perks would Unarmored characters get? Better defense like Heavy? Less stamina usage like light? Or more maneuverability in combat? Should Alteration spells work on these, we'd need to concede low defense for balance. Unarmed combat should knuckles/claws with their own custom finishers. The player should be able to forge their own set of Unarmed weapons to be used in battle, be it Iron/Steel/Dwavern/Daedric. If desired, we could even split the difference and give claws bleed damage like Axes and knuckles ignore armor like Maces. To balance these weapons out though, the damage output would be lower (so those weapons are still a viable alternative) It's late and I don't know the boards thoughts on this. What do you think? dylanh84
I would love to see fistfighting in Skyrim as of now to do any damage with fist you need that perk in the heavy armor tree and be using heavy gauntlets as well.I give you a big +
